Really ?
everybody else seems to love it !!!Best Bar in Kemah!
Zone 504 is a fun, lively sports bar that boast a t.v. view from every seat. This pub has been voted Best of The Bay in 2007 and 2008. Vanessa has also been voted Best Bartender in the Bay Area. Great staff, great music and a crowd that is both local and tourist driven. The outdoor patio is big and has an outdoor bar on weekends. Live bands and D.J. music play on weekends and there are great drink specials every night. This is a GREAT spot for happy hour and for groups and parties. The club has been recently rebuilt after hurricane IKE and is quickly regaining its status as THE BEST BAR in Kemah!Voted Best Bar in the Bay Area!

It was kind of like being in someone's garage. I am not sure, but it seemed right on the edge of being a gay bar. A lot of the crowd were waiters from the nearby Kemah Boardwalk, and most of them seemed gay. It is not billed as a gay bar, but if it is, ...there is nothing wrong with that. Those who weren't waiters were a little rough around the edges. This place is not for the faint of heart. It kind of reminded me of the bar in the movie "From Dusk to Dawn". Quintin Tarentino would love this place. It's a DUMP!!! ...and not even a fun DUMP!!!
Out of the bars, night clubs, and taverns that we went to....this was the worst. It is dirty, cramped, and looks like it is about to fall apart. The patrons of this place were scary. I would probably have felt safer at Hell's Angels biker rally. There are better places to go in Kemah. One block away is Palapa's., a cute outside palapa bar. Go one more block toward the Holiday Inn and you have The Terrace Cafe , which was our favorite, then there is Amadeus and Madeline's, which are both upscale and classy piano bars. Do yourself a favor....."SKIP" Zone 504 and go to Palapa's , The Terrace Cafe, or Madeline's.......it is your life and your vacation, ....go somewhere fun and safe......Really ?
everybody else seems to love it !!!UGH!!!!
Dropped into this place several times this week. Saturday night was the worst. Not crazy about the music that night. The stuff where all they do is scream into the mike. I am assuming that the name Zone 504 has something to do with New Orleans, ...if that is correct, ....then New Orleans should sue this joint....it has very little in common with New Orleans....New Orleans is fun and has great food and music...nothing like that at this place. I read the reviews and some were great and I kept trying to see what the fuss was about and I think it is all hype. I really didn't find anything great about this place. Most of the women I encountered there were more manly than any biker or longshoreman..... I never got a warm fuzzy feeling about this place. One of the bartenders was really cute, but not very friendly. It took forever to get a beer. The crowd was scary. I felt like I was in a 3rd world country or on the subway in New York.....none of it was good. Not So Much.....
Nothing really set this apart from any other sports bar. It is sort of like a guy who is trying too hard on a date. The building is painted a really ugly orange and I am guessing they did that to get attention. Probably good for Halloween though. The drink prices were unbelievably high. I didn't dare order food because nothing looked like it had been cleaned for a few years. The bartender was really rude. The locals looked a little weathered and a little on the shady side, to say the least.Worldwide > United States > Kemah, TX > Restaurants
