World Gym is prone to misleading advertising!
Please everyone....dont be fooled by some misleading advertising! Make sure you add on $38 per year for fee or rate guarantee. Two payments of $19 per year. This is purposely not advertised and is purposely not included with the other costs. So you have initial fee, monthly fees, and these 2 fees total initially. Then monthly fees + $38 fee per year. They conveniently leave that out of their rate advertisements!

World Gym is awful
i joined this gym along with my girlfriend a year ago. recently i decided i would like to change my membership/contract. when i went in i was told that i would have to pay about $160 cancle my original and pay the enrollment fee for the new contract. I didnt have that kind of money on me at the time so i declined. i decided the next day to email the gym and ask questions as to why i had to pay an enrollment fee when i had already payed one previously and was just looking to change my contract. my comments were followed by an email that can only be described as rude. I followed with another email discussing more problems i had with the gym (i.e. hours open, customer service and the last email i received). I was met with an even longer more rude email explaining to me that if i am upset with the way things are run i should switch to another gym, but i will not find one nearly as cheap as the almightly WORLD GYM! This is just not something you want to be a part of...trust me

World gym Is NOT for everyone!!!!!!
I recently have a membership to worlds gym. The staff are slightly rude, i paid my month at the gym and they switched up my my account with someone elses meaning that i had paid for a strangers membership. I talked to the manager he changed everything but was rude about it and didnt offer me anything for my troubles(not that i needed anything).The gym is very clean but the real problem with the gym are the people. The gym is medium sized but the owner lets tons of people join leaving te gym crowded. More then once i had to wait in line or use a machine that i didnt need or want to use in order for the machine i wanted to u se to be open.I am canceling my membership soon enough because i am sick of this bull.

World Gym is The best gym we have ever joined!!
We have joined every gym in town and World Gym is by far the best we have ever joined. They have double the equipment of any place in Buffalo and the prices are more than half of what everyone else charges. We have been members for 3 years and all of our friends are members too. Neither us or anyone we know has ever had a bad expierience. WE have never had to wait in line for anything. The people are great, the equipment is great, and the price is unreal. By the way their contracts are very simple and upfront. My husband is an attorney and he was very comfortable and suprised that World Gym has contracts that are so upfront and easy to understand. These other people who wrote those reviews are just plain NUTS!!!!!! WE LOVE WORLD GYM. Join and you will never regret it. The best there is!

Customer Satsification Poor
I have been a member of the World Gym in Hamburg since 2006. I like the gym but travel and get very little use. Therefore I am a good customer paying the monthly fees but not using the gym. I had a problem with my credit card and had it closed down. I forgot that I have an automatic draw out of the credit card for the monthly charges for my wife and myself. I went in to the gym and provided a replacement card. I was charged for two months of late charges (they did remove the duplicate charges for my wife) and never received any notification ( the GM stated that notices do go out). As a customer for 4 years and a good member I felt that the charges should have been waived. The GM disagreed. I guess customer satsification is not critical to the gym. Good monthly charges - poor customer satsification. The fees are greater then the monthly amounts

Yay Worlds Gym
I joined about two months ago. I was fully aware ahead of time about the $19 fee to join, and the $38 a year guarantee fees. It's called reading the fine print, and most offer have them. All in all that $177 for the year. Not bad compared to most places. The girl that took my registration was very helpful, went over all the fine print with me again, just in case I had missed it AND mentioned not once but twice about having too cancel 60 days ahead of time. There was a gentleman who was more than happy to show me around, once I asked. And I've never had any problems getting someone to show me how to use the equipment. And my favorite part....They have Day Care!!! My daughter asks for us to go to the gym, extra motivation on my part. I've only ever had to wait once to use a piece of equipment. I'd rather have a packed gym then a desserted one.....the people give me motivation and energy.

good gym no complaints except no towals
nice gym,clean,good machines i never really have to wait,the price is awesome few people they have working for them are a-holes,,but you get that were ever you go,,you have everything you need but a pool,,don't forget this is to workout,i see comments about people complaining they are the ones that signed a year contract after two days stopped going than expected not to pay there bills so they come up with every excuse in the book,,this is a good gym clean,cheap,good people and bad people but your there to workout get it? the only thing i did not like was when i sighed up we got shower towels than they took them away that is breech of contract but besides that its a good gym.

Decent Gym, BAD customer service..
The equipment is all new and decent, however, I would never recommend signing up with them after my experience. I signed up about 1.5 years ago with a one year contract that they stated would need to be renewed. The month my contract expired, the payments stopped being debited. Now, they've called me 6 months later to let me know they are sending me to collections and that to cancel I need to pay the previous 6 months PLUS an additional 60 days for a gym I haven't used in over a year.Worldwide > United States > Hamburg, NY > Gyms and Fitness
