Wag Pet Boutique is amazing and I am from Los Angeles
WOW, Wag was awesome. Visiting from LA, where Doggie Boutiques are a dime a dozen. This place rocks, and any one who (review from prior ) suggest a BIG BOX, or INTERNET store over mom and pop shops....then go.Wag Pet Boutique is AWESOME!
I shopped at Wag Pet Boutique this weekend. I found everything I needed and more! What a great store! The male co-owner was friendly & courteous. I'll definitely shop there again!Great selection.
Do yourself and your dog a favor and check out Wag. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The food is pricey but worth it. There are tons of high quality natural dog foods to choose from. If you are buying a bag of food for the first time, ask for a sample to take home and try out on your pooch before you spend money on a big bag. Or just bring your pup with you and let her taste it at the store. Tons of interesting and fun toys to choose from. They even have a gourmet bakery in the back of the store.Skip It!
Even as the places we can take our pets decrease (thanks REI!), WAG is still simply not worth it. Now that the gourmet dog bakery has moved out of the back of the store, WAG has nothing to offer other than over-priced food and a general apathy toward the well-being of your furry family member. The sales people were cold, unfriendly and condescending the few times I went in and even after the pet food recall, WAG is still carrying food and treats made and sourced in china! If they cared at all about the wellbeing of my pet, as they would claim, they would make sure to check where their supposedly "super-premium and natural" treats were coming from. The mark up on their products is also completely astronomical. It seems that WAG is only interested in the almighty dollar and not the almighty dog. Even pet smart is better than WAG because at least there I don't feel like I am being conned and gouged.Fabulous Toys!
The toys at this store beat any other "four-legged-kid" toy store anywhere! I have a Great Dane and Standard Poodle and both are very, very rough with their toys. We have found great things here that have lasted and lasted and lasted. The staff has ALWAYS been willing to assist with my special requests no matter what they are - wrapping treats to be hand-carried on a 30-hour journey - or returns - they are even letting me return a dress I bought for the Poodle last year that was too small for her ? even though I only get an opportunity to visit the store once or twice a year as we live in Saudi Arabia ? that the owner is willing to accommodate me in this regard speaks volumes for Wag as far as I am concerned. Also, this store carries some clothing that will fit even the Great Dane and that is difficult to find anywhere. I think Wag is a great place to shop for my two four-legged Kids and would highly recommend going out of the way to visit this store. [And although I can't speak for the food issues that another reviewer posted about... as to the "con" of parking being difficult, forgive me, but if you can't bother walking through a parking lot to get to the best "toy store" in North Carolina for your pet, you probably shouldn't have a pet.]Best Pet Foods on the Market
As a former manager of a specialty pet supply store, I can whole-heartedly vouch for Wag as a great place to shop for your dog or cat. They carry all the best pet foods on the market and their selection of toys and treats, while smaller than that of a big box warehouse store, is well-rounded and chosen using the most stringent selection criteria. The Sales Associates are warm and friendly to me and they absolutely adore my Boston Terrier puppy. The store is clean, well-organized, and most importantly, does not sell pets of any kind. I have thoroughly enjoyed shopping at Wag and have not found any place in the Triangle that even comes close to their service and quality.Worldwide > United States > Raleigh, NC > Pet Stores
