Coolest exotic pet store. Nuf' said.

I think the fish pond is the most awesomist store in the history of the world!! They have the most rad animals ever seen by man! The staff is extremly helpful and they know alot about their animals, especially the one guy who works the occasional saturday. I think he is the only true reptile expert in the state. He also breeds the coolest crested and gargoyle geckos in the universe! HELL YEAH!!! The one thing I don't like is that annoying tortoise, Martin whatshisface. They have really cool fish, but the snakes and lizards are wicked cool! There is also this smokin' hot chick that works there once in awhile and she extremly smart when it come to reptiles and their care. If you don't think TFP is the best reptile store, then you just don't know quality and should just go back to the trailer park! It may not be the most clean store, but if you want a cool reptile or snake, Tropical Fish Pond should be at the top of your list. If they don't have it, then it must not be worth buying. Now go get yourself some superfly exotics pronto!!!

DON'T LISTEN TO THE HATERS! The place is G-R-E-A-T!

I have been going to the Fish Pond for years and am very loyal to them. The staff knows what they're talking about and they TAKE GREAT CARE OF THE ANIMALS, just because it doesn't smell that great doesn't mean its dirty and ill-treated. They have a large selection of fish and you have to give the staff some credit, there aren't many people who work there so just because you have to wait doesn't mean the staff is "sexist" or "rude". It's first come first serve.

Horrible

This pet store was horrible! As a pet lover I actually tried to report them to the humane society, however they don't handle reptile cases. The food in the bearded dragons cage was spoiled, they had no heat light. The store smelled like animal urine. All the cages were filthy, the animals unhealthy looking. I would advise everyone to shop elsewhere.

BAD CONDITIONS

I was very surprised to walk in to this pet store this time to find such dirty unkept cages. It sickened me. I felt sorry for the poor reptiles and fish. Normally it's never been like this. What's going on? I figured the store must be under staffed or something. That's still no exscuse for the filth that was built up in the cages. If I were the manager/owner I'd be pulling doubles to maintain the cleanliness and health of the pets. Yes the store has always had a smell to it from all the reptiles but this time from all of the filth the smell bothered me so much I tried not to breath because it felt like I was inhaling germs and bacteria. The owner should really think about puting in a ventilation system. It would be healthy for everyone.

Exotic Pets

Some people may critisize the smell of Tropical Fish Pond & Reptiles, but you have to relize that this is a mostly REPTILE store. Reptiles dont smell great, get over it. That is only one major drawback though. The staff is all very well informed, and if you ask them a question about their animals, you will get an answer or they will try and find an answer for you. The pets are all well cared for, and you cannot sat they arent unless you have cared for that kind of animal before. These people are experts, so I think they know how to clean a cage. Give them credit! It is hard to care for so many different types of animals, and they might need another hand, but they are dong thier best. Dont be a hypocrit. All in all, I think this is a very fine store.

Absolutely Deplorable. Flies Everywhere.

Absolutely deplorable.

Flies, young and old, everywhere. This is the most disgusting, inhumane place I have ever been in my entire life. The pungent smell of fecal matter, urine, and mold overwhelmed me and my family when we entered the store one morning to purchase a fish. Every single animal cage was unkept- bottom of snake cages covered in old vomit pellets, rat cages dotted with more fecal matter than bedding, lizard tanks with windows smeared with fecal matter, dead and decaying frogs rotting in old water, no one is caring for these animals!!! Each tank I looked into had no fresh water. None. What was in the bowls was more fecal matter and rotting items. I am astounded that this place is still in business. The worst and most heart wrenching thing I witnessed was the rat and small animal containers (clear plastic tubs, really, with lids) that lined the wall behind the register. One container that held rats contained one that was contorted in an odd position and obviously dead for some time because it was rotting with flies! The other rats in this same container were walking over it to get to the water supply. I wanted to cry. THis place needs to be shut down and soon.

We were not really able to see many of the fish in their tanks because the many of the tank windows were covered with thick layers of algae. We saw dead and dried fish and other aquatic life on the floor and in between teh tanks. There are no covers to the tanks which allow for animals to jump out.

One of the most disturbing tanks was I saw carried a number of fish. However, wrapped around the bottom part of the filter that hangs in the tank and sucks water up from the tank were easily 15 or more dead, decaying fish. They looked like they were growing fur or something- obviously they had been there for a long time.

We went to visit the gigantic friendly turtle who roams the pet store (and who was a treat to see when I was little), resting in his spot that was covered with urine and feces. His toes and feet were caked with layers of fecal matter and underneath his resting spot were places where he urinated and it had dried over and over. It was as if no one cared to clean this beautiful creature or his resting spot in a very long time.

Please help me shut this place down and save these animals from any further abuse.
