They have a great selection of watches, priced from under 1,000 - to well over 100,000. I have been interested in a Bell & Ross for a while and one of the salesmen was very helpful answering all my questions and not pressuring me to buy on the spot. When I am ready to make the jump and get the Phantom Bell & Ross I will go see them for my purchase.
If you're not really ready to buy an expensive watch, but you want to look at them in the case and maybe try a few on, go to Tourneau. If you're reasonably sure you do want to buy an expensive watch, but want to try a few on to decide which one is for you, go to Tourneau. If money isn't an object, you don't mind relatively rude and unhelpful salespeople and you want to buy from a national, well-established retailer, go to Tourneau. But under all other circumstances, stay away. Here's the truth about Tourneau: their prices aren't great, their salespeople aren't particularly helpful or knowledgeable, and they don't really need your business (unless you're buying that $80,000 Patek Calatrava, in which case you wouldn't be reading this review). Regarding price: just about any authorized watch dealer is going to give you the same number when you ask about the price of a particular model. This is the list price, set by the manufacturer. That's not the price you want to pay. You want to know what *your* price is -- that is, how much of a discount *off the list price* is the dealer going to give you? For most major luxury brands (Breitling, IWC, Omega, Tag and so on), you should expect to pay 15% to 20% off list price (there are exceptions, most notably Rolex -- it's hard to get a Rolex at a discount anywhere). The most Tourneau will do is 10%. For example, I recently inquired of Tourneau how much of a discount they would give me on a particular Omega; the answer: 10% (a joke). Two days later I bought the same watch, with the same warranty, from a small Omega dealer at a 30% discount (plus no sales tax). So you won't get the best prices at Tourneau, at least not without a great deal of haggling, which I personally do not enjoy. Regarding the sales people, some are nice, some are mean, some know what they're talking about, some haven't a clue. It's hard to generalize because so many people work there. I was rudely told recently at Tourneau that the Omega I was looking to buy -- a very common model -- doesn't exist. (I'm wearing the watch now -- I bought it elsewhere, and it does exist.) On the other hand, there are some very nice people there, and on occasion you find someone who knows watches really well. There's no consistency, which is a big part of the frustration. You have to be careful though: if you don't know which watch you want and haven't done any research ahead of time, you could get some very bad advice. There are positives. Tourneau has stores all across the country, so if you need to take your watch in for service or cleaning, it's usually pretty easy. (Some people have terrible things to say about Tourneau's service dept., but that's another issue.) Moreover, if you buy a watch there, they'll always buy it back from you at the price you paid (as long as you apply the funds to a new watch). Lastly, there's the peace of mind of knowing that you bought your expensive watch from the largest authorized dealer in the country -- no question your watch is authentic. I think of Tourneau as the Best Buy of watch dealers. You know you're going to get better service, better advice and likely a better deal at a small independent retailer, and yes the people at Best Buy can be rude and unhelpful; but Best Buy is so close and big, and it just seems easier to go there. It's probably best to stick with Timex anyway.
Worst Service Ever
Dropped vintage Ladies Omaga watch for service & repair the second week of Oct 2007 and to date May 30th 2008 still have no watch. Told would be ready end of Feb on my first call to them-then I had to call again when Feb came & went with still no watch-told March 31st MAX-date came & went still no watch-I had to call again April 17th told two more weeks and that THEY would call-do I need to say it again-no watch AND no call. Called on May 7th and given same story of two more weeks and assured that I would be called on May 23rd as the watch would be delivered to Tourneau on said date- Well it's the 30th and no one called me again. Let me also mention how unbelievably RUDE they are to clients - Yes I do expect more from a company like Tourneau- you should when they charge just about $600.00 to service a watch! I have asked that my watch be returned at once and we'll see how long that take!Worst Customer Service!
Absolutely the WORST customer service I've ever received!!!Very Rude they cant be bothered with questions
just extremely rude and unprofessional. If you ask a question they snap at you. Very condescending, they hardly have a selection.Worldwide > United States > New York, NY > Jewelry
