This is a good place to having fun with friends.order carefully
Tiger Lily now has a menu that tries to serve several distinct subgroups of customers who variously want scorpion bowls and pu-pu platters, generic suburban Asian/Thai food swimming in sweet sauce, or fairly authentic Malaysian dishes. If you pay attention to which type you are likely ordering, you can get some good food. Our food was more of the generic type, but some of the dishes going to other tables looked a lot better and they seemed to like them.Great late night spot!
I work near TigerLily so I have been here numerous times - usually late at night after the BSO. I have always found the food to be very flavorful. The staff is nice, although they can get very busy and then things slow down quite a bit. The beef Rendang is the best I have ever tasted, and I love all their vegetarian options as well. We also love the deep-fried shrinp app. As for drinks: the wine list is nothing special (pretty bad, actually) and the bartenders make a good Mai-Tai, but seem unskilled at making other standard Western cocktails.barely a noodle shop - rip off
My wife and I came here before going to the symphony, hoping to get some decent Malaysian food. We were very dissapointed. Even though we requested no MSG, my wife's food still tasted pretty strongly of it. The food was okay, but only for a noodle shop, not for a sit-down restaurant at nearly $30 for a couple w/o drinks. My beef dish with wide noodles had a very artificial smokey flavor. Definitely never going back. There are better places to go!
I went for a late dinner, after a BSO performance, with several of my friends. Most of the food ordered was almost inedible! Usually, I don't make a big deal about mediocre restaurant food but I ended up sending back the Pad Thai I ordered because it tasted so bad. The second plate was not much better! Although, one of my friends ordered the Beef Rendang, which was pretty good. I don't think I will ever recommend this place to any of my friends. Go to Penang in Chinatown instead!Worldwide > United States > Boston, MA > Restaurants
