We visited on a friends reccomendation. A lovely shop that is situated on the main street it has three floors of antiques. A generous collection of European wood furniture. We spent a while looking and waiting for some help. Eventually some one came along and did not seem to be too enthusiastic. She sort of blew us off and we continued exploring. We found lovely antique collectable tea cups that I so adore. Again we had to wait for the invisble helper to come and when asked to open the display cabinet she made a statement about having better things to do. An off the cuff statement to be careful with them was down right insulting. We were determined to make this pleasureable and to add to my tea cup collection so we continued our search. This time on the upper floor again waiting for the invisible helper we saw her walk by the bottom of the stairs and we asked if she could come up and help us. Again another rude and bothered statement that we need to take care of ourselves. We had both really had enough of this person at this point but really wanted to purchase a book stand that we so liked. We said we want to make a purchase and needed her help. She said there were plenty of other shops selling the same things and why don't we bother them instead. Incenssed at this persons rude behavior I demanded to know who the owner was so I could inform that person of a very rude employee. She sniped back that she was the owner and that her name was Mary and that if we were not satisfied we were free to go elsewhere. I had heard many good things about this store but after dealing with the owner I would not reccomend it to any one. It's a shame because it is a lovely store but the service was rude and condescending.
