I would just like to explain the situation for the negative review and apologize that one of our customers felt that way. Tattlers lane has been in business in the falls for 68 years now. The owner is elderly and also around that time had suffered a few health issues. Now at the end of April 2011 I had just started working there.. its not a big corporation and every document is hand written and kept in a binder. We have no computer system which is why at times it takes a while to look up a customers information and by a while I mean 2 to 3 minutes while your on the phone. Before I started Josephine worked alone everyday despite her health scare and handled every phone call and every customer now in her late 80s you could see how she might not have the exact answer your looking for in a drop of a dime. Even more so because our documents are kept downstairs where she sews and unpacks delivery. She's also had a hip replacement and can't get up and down the stairs easily. When I first started I had to learn how everything was kept and organized which is why I might have sounded confused or had to take a moment to get a answer for you. I remember you very well. The dresses take 3 to 4 months to arrive they come from New York. An estimated delivery date is giving to us by the manufacture but is just that, estimated. We call when the dresses arrive. Now there were days that we had 4 or more boxes that I could not even unpack because there were so many appointments I had to wait till we were closed and the door was locked to unpack and mark them in. There has been plenty of times when a customer has called to check and I had to unpack that days deliveries while they were on the phone to see if one was their order however they were always very understanding. Perhaps that's what happened for you. The owners niece Rita works on Thursdays to help out because that's our longer business day now with her being there once a week of course she didn't know who's who by heart. Unfortunately with me being new the owner being in her late 80s and Rita only working one day a week that would explain why you might have thought we were confused. Some times you can't please every one no matter what we do and i am truly sorry you didn't feel the experience like the other 5 customers who gave us noting but good reviews. If it was that poorly it wouldn't have lasted 68 years and out lasted every other shop around. Personally owned stores are very different from corporate which is what I'm use to working in. I've always been a manager in retail and I've learned that more then not most customers think "the customers always right" and have been very demeaning and disrespectful because I'm the "worker". Some people will never be happy and don't take the time to think about the possible situation. I again apologize you were not pleased but I couldn't help but explain it after I seen the poor review. It is now almost 2014 and after 68 years and almost 90 years of age Josephine is finally retiring. She can take her awards out of the store and hang them at home and finally relax and be proud of her accomplishments.
Less than pleased with Customer Service
I ordered my Bridesmaids dresses from there and they didn't even call to notify me when they arrived. I had to call in myself 4 months after I ordered the dresses and was told that they had been in.Worldwide > United States > Niagara Falls, NY > Weddings
