Unique authentic Japanese-style Restaurant
The items on the menu are unique and authentic. I often eat at Japanese restaurants but this one of a kind. Try the Duck Salad or the Roasted Rice Balls topped with roe and you'll see exactly what I mean.

Authentic Izakaiya
If you are looking for sushi, go somewhere else. This is a Japanese "izkaiya", a restarant that specializes in small portions. This is desireable when you want to try several totally different items.

poor, unfriendly service
We went on a week night and the place was not crowded. We were not greeted when we arrived and had to wait before we were seated. The food was fine, but we felt rushed. Before even getting the check, the waitress asked us to hurry up because another group was waiting for our table. There was an open table behind us. If you would like a pleasant leisurely dinner in the company of a group of friends, try another restaurant.

Rice is very tasty
I don't go there for nice treatment by the staff. I go there for Food. There are may Japanese restaurants in the area, but this place cook good Japanese food. When I miss the taste of the Japanese food I grew up with, I would come here. Especially the rice they cook is really good. Gochi's rice is horrible.
