Fun store
Take and Toys has a wide selecitonof toys to chose from. They always have the latest toys for a cheaper price than bigger toy stores. Their staff is nice and helpful as well.this store does not deserve your money!
I had the worst experience at this store ever. i live on the west coast and recieved a baby gift when my daughter was born. it did not match the room and i sent it back. given that there is no website, i live 2000 miles away and the sales assistants are less than helpful, i found it impossible to find something to buy. i called a handful of times and they were never sage enough to suggest an alternate idea when i would call to see if they had a particular item. eventually, i gave up and forgot about the credit.J Greenberg
What more could a customer ask for?? I shop in this store almost every week. I walk up to the counter give the age and sex of the child I am buying for and the staff finds me a wrapped gift!!! I am in and out in five minutes with a gift that always seems to be a winner!!I wouldn't shop here if you paid me.
I refuse to shop at Tales and Toys, I live very close to her store, and I had a very similar experience as Jessica a few years ago. Robin is extremely rude, and I would not give her a penny of my money. Now I, and all of my friends give our business to the Karyn Collection.HORRIBLE
Never in my life have I encountered a ruder business owner than this woman, Robin. She treats people in her store with complete disrepect and is a complete outward bi***. Find somewhere else in Highland Park to spend your money!!!great store!
I just had a camp appointment at Tales and Toys. I LOVED everything I bought. One thing was cuter than the next and I am so relieved that they helped my figure out what I needed vs. what I wanted to buy. The staff even knew my what the colors were of the camp my child is going to! They had all of the camp addresses and will even send out my care packages for me. I'm so nervous about my daughter going off to camp...what if she doesn't like it???? They put my daughter and me at ease and my daughter is now so excited to go that she wore one of her new tank tops today even though it's 50 degrees outside. What a great store. I am going back again for sure! The Worst Ever!!!!!!!!!!
Come on people...there is no way you could actually enjoy going into this miserable store unless you are related to someone who works here. They HATE CHILDREN for starters. They are so busy watching out for what your kid touches that they don't even ask for your help...if they do its with a snippy tone! DO not waste a minute of your time going into this store!!!! Its the most miserable!Tales & Toys is not an enjoyable experience
I had a bad experience there as well. I do not understand how a business owner could be so rude! I a very excited that a new store is opening up on Central for kids toys. I will be going there from now on.Tales & Toys is great
Un real!! I wrote a very nice review for this store a while back, since then I have been back only to be very pleased. For the posters below.. I have three young children whom I actually pay attention to while I do my shopping.. I find it very typical for most in HP to walk into a store and ignore their children. I once saw a child alone wandering in E street looking for mommy.. Ladies for goodness sakes these shops do not hate children, they simply do not want to babysit them?? I will never understand why some of these parents have children and wish to shop around town while they ignore their kids.. As for the post below? I suggest you google golf balls .Tales & Toys was not a good experience
I read the review by Jamie and got a good laugh out of it. I have two kids and watch my kids like hawks. I am one of those parents who does not allow their kids to treat a store like it is their playground. I walked into Tales and Toys after lunch at Stash's and the first thing the lady behind the counter did was roll her eyes at me. No one came up to me to help and all I got was one continued dirty look the entire time I was there. It is not a welcoming experience. The first you you see are signs that say DO NOT TOUCH. These people own a toy store. It is very obvious that they do not like kids at all.I love
I love this store and I'm not related to anyone that works there! I was having a particularly busy day the other day and my daughter's birthday was the next day. I called the store at 5pm to see what time they closed and when I found out that they close at five I must have given off a sigh. The owner, Robin, asked me if I could get to the store within the next 20 minutes or so. If so, she would wait for me because she didn't want my daughter to be disappointed. This is from the woman that supposedly doesn't like kids....ridiculous....do you think she waited there because of me....no, it was for my daughter! We started chatting and I learned that she has a degree in education and has devoted her life to all things child related. I don't think someone would open a retail toy store that is very labor intensive if she didn't love children. There are many easier jobs she could have chosen, but she didn't. Her eyes lit up when she started talking about camp. She had a wonderful experience asWorldwide > United States > Highland Park, IL > Toys and Books For Children
