Great atmosphere and drinks...sushi leaves room for desire
Fun bar, delicious champagne cocktails, great atmosphere, sushi ...is a little iffy. My first experience there was great all though the maki rolls were huge and a little messy (I wouldn't recommend it for a first date if you're trying to make a good impression). The second time I went I wasn't quite satisfied with my sushi. However, they do have a creative line-up of rolls and also offer a variety of cooked rolls for the raw-fish-phobic. It was good, but it has still left me in search a truly great sushi restaurant in the city. I would definitely go back for drinks though!Consistently Great!
I have been to this restaurant about 5 times, needless to say I love it here!! The staff is nice and the service is great. The food is for sharing so this place is great for groups but even good for alone time with your special person. The atmosphere is really good too - romantic but yet fun. Great food and drinks. Their Lobster Risoto is wonderful, filet mignon, sushi, you bascially can't go wrong with anything you order! One of my favorite cocktails is the Purple Passion - keep them coming! I will always recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants an enjoyable night out with your wife/hubby or with a good group of friends! Perfect. The prices are great too...not over priced! They have Valet parking too which is good. Can't go wrong with Swanky Bubbles!!!Delicious Champagne
Excellent champagne cocktails. Chef makes really good sushi specialties. The menu is nice size & offers many different options.Very Good!
I Definitely Recommend Swanky Bubbles! I am 20 and went with a group of my friends. We all enjoyed our food the music and the service! I'm vegetarian and found plenty of options. I liked the mexican roll, the veggie tempura, and the GOAT CHEESE CRISPS ^_^. my friends loved the chicken satay, dragon roll, and the banana boat dessert. we couldn't have any drinks :( (we were even carded at the door once), but the other patrons seemed pleasantly buzzed. The only cons are the stairs to the bathroom (the top stairs slant down and the bottom stairs slant up) 0.o and not everything on the menu is to die for. (lobster rissotto, crabcakes) .Unbelievably Great Food, Unbelievably Bad Service
This has been one of our favorite restaurants for a while because of the great food and friendly service. However, on our most recent visit, the attitude given to our party by the manager, both before dining and after spending hundreds of dollars on cuisine and wine, was inexcusable. We will never eat there again. Furthermore, we will spread the news of our visit to our numerous groups of friends who dine there often, or should I say, used to. Nice job, guy.A pretty okay place
I found the service good and friendly, the food was amazing but you have to share it with your friend/boyfriend or other. The Champagne was unbelievabley tasty and the various kinds were amazing. I would go back for another taste of their champagne, even my boyfriend liked it and he doesn't like champagne. The place was very small and crowded it needed a bit more room and the music should have been a little lower but overall I would go back.A nice evening out
My wife and I came here not long ago enjoyed the bar to its fullest. Their champagne is to die for and I don't even care for it that much usually. my wife tried the sushie and loved it I had the crab cakes and they were made very well. This place is a bit expensive but the champagne is worth it - wow!Loved it!
I went to Swanky Bubbles with a friend for dinner on Saturday. We had a reservation, and were seated almost immediately. We got 2 huge sushi rolls to share as well as the seared Tuna. The servicde was attentive and speedy, but not rushed. We ended up getting another roll because the first 2 were so good. The bill was right around $100 (including 4 cocktails and 2 bowls of edemame), which I thought was a great value. I'll certainly be back!Great food $$$and Horrible service - NEVER again.
Absolutely correct in all respects. This was our first (and last) time at Swanky Bubbles. We were a large group to celebrate a friends birthday. Well - the waitress (and I think also a manager - an asian lady) was quite rude and indifferent the entire time we were there. It wasn't just my impression - we all commented on it after leaving. There are too many other good options in Old City...
Food was basic Asian fusion.. sometimes you expect more from Old City. The manager has extremely poor social skills and through his "joking" made us feel extremely unwelcome (ironically, in telling us that we should be careful what you say while eavesdropping on our conversation). This is why this business has gone downhill in the last few years- you need to make your customers feel welcome. Not impressed.Hair in my food:repulsive!
On November 14, 2009 two friends & I dined at Swanky Bubbles in Old City. There was hair in the sicky fried rice had HAIR in it, yuck. The hair was rolled inside the rice.Yumm!
My boyfriend and I heard about swanky bubbles from a friend so we decided to try it out. Our first experience was great! we were seated in a quiet two top in the back and ordered two delicious drinks and two rolls of sushi. The sushi was so good that we had to get another round! The waitress was very nice and didn't rush us out. we could sit and enjoy ourselves which was very nice. I really enjoyed the cool colors of the restaurant and the music they played. It set up the evening for a nice relaxing, romantic night! Also, we were lucky enough to see Ryan Howard who was seated a table away from us!Worldwide > United States > Philadelphia, PA > Sushi and Japanese Restaurants
