Not the Best, Better in the Area
In all honesty, I've only eaten here once, it was kind of late in the evening (about 8:00PM), and maybe the server was tired after a long day, like I was.bad food
the food is here seems like it is stale i do not like the staff either the buffet has lack of food all the time and is a waste of money the stuff does no t even taste like indian foodGreat Food and Family Run Business
My husband and I live in Kenmore and we both feel compelled to write a good review, as we eat here often and also order takeout. This is a very friendly, family-owned restaurant. The wife is the waitress and always has a smile for us and the husband cooks as well. He often comes out to say hi, as does another relative in the kitchen. We have never had a bad meal there, and we think the buffett is excellent, often fresh food is brought out while we are eating. Freshly made Nan bread is brought to the table, hot out of the pan, even though you ordered the buffet. On take out food, they are very generous, often putting in deserts as a surprise. If there is anything negative, the restaurant itself is a little dated, but I would trade great food for a fancy atmosphere. If you are looking for good Indian food, at a nice price, with a good buffet, this is the place.Best in the area
My wife and I have been going to the Star of India for about 3 years now - we love Indian food, and the Star is by FAR the best in the Buffalo area. The food is great, the family who runs it are friendly and accommodating, and the whole experience is just perfect. The cost is better than most places in town - definitely better than Tandooris, and the food is better. My main complaint about other places is that the spicy foods are too hot to really get an idea of the true flavor - the chef at the Star of India keeps a perfect balance of spiciness and tastiness.Best in Area
We have been going to Star for the past 4 years and love the food. We have tried many others in the area but they cater to the American version of Indian. Star of India is authentic home cooked Indian food. Whether you have the buffet or order off the menu, the food is consistently excellent. The Kaur family who operate the restaurant is both gracious and willing to share cooking techniques. I highly recommend this restaurant.Great food; Fast Service
If you want to indulge in some of the best ethic food around, visit Star of India. My boyfriend I had decided to give it a try, back in February. We weren't disappointed and have been loyal customers, ever since. There are two dining rooms. The larger is of decent size and able to accommodate a large party (I would call ahead to make arrangements), depending upon day or time. Each time I've gone, there weren't many guests. Therefore, you can also expect a more intimate dining experience. The food was terrific and the menu offers items to suite vegetarians and carnivores alike. They also have take-out, but why not stop in? I believe most of the delicious meals are prepared ahead of time, so you are served rather quickly. In addition, they have a wonderful selection of beer (domestic/imported) and wine. Try the Mango Milkshake and the Special Bread. Yum!Loyal customer
The food is always good and service friendly. It's evident that it is a family run restaurant, and they are always welcoming. They often remember our favorites, and we don't even need to ask! The only drawback is lack of parking, but it is worth it!One of the most terrible Indian restaurant ever visited!!
The restaurant was smelling bad and food was stale...I was really disappointed.Worldwide > United States > Buffalo, NY > Vegetarian Restaurants
