Used to be a good place, not anymore
I took my truck in to Redhorse to get a pinion seal replaced. The next morning I start my truck and I hear a gurgling sound from under the hood. At first I thought it was my radiator overheating. I turn the truck off, pop the hood, and...Not a single torque wrench in the shop!
I thought the days of tightening lugnuts solely with a impact wrench was over. Boy was I wrong, at least Wal-Mart uses torque wrenches and won't put twice the amount of torque on your lugnuts stripping them out. I bought 4 new tires at Red Horse just before christmas, all seemed ok until later on I found out when they put the spare tire back up under my truck they just sorta rolled the chain up in some crazy fashion & my spare tire was hanging about 4 inches below the frame on my truck just knocking around making noise.Long Time Customer
I first went there to have new tires and brake pads put on my Jeep Cherokee. I stressed that if they found anything at all awry with the brakes to replace them, I didn't need to be notified.Red Horse Tire Center
I got 4 new tires at Red Horse Tire and I am so pleased with the customer service I received there! I was able to drop my car off and not worry about the job they were going to do.Red Horse Tire Ctr is the pits!
I had used Red Horse for years to buy tires and had no problems until the day I bought a used pickup which loose steering and erratic braking I took it in for a checkup and they aligned the front end and checked out the steering, front brakes and said it was ok. It the meantime I took it to my regular mechanic, he replaced the power steering pump which seemed to make braking smoother. However the steering was NOT ok so I took it back to Red Horse and the mechanic said it was hard to drive and adjusted the steering. It seemed ok just the normal play in the steering for a used pickup. I took it on a 3000 mile cross country trip and one day into the trip the steering became worse by the mile til I could barely hold it on the road. At my destination I took it to a repair shop and found the steering box was shot from over adjustments, the tie rods were bad and the front brake rotors were bad. All had to be replaced and the new mechanic said he nearly lost control of the pickup when he tesUsed to be a good place, not anymore
I took my truck in to Redhorse to get a pinion seal replaced. The next morning I start my truck and I hear a gurgling sound from under the hood. At first I thought it was my radiator overheating. I turn the truck off, pop the hood, and notice fluid all over the right side of the engine. Now I'm thinking there's a hole in the radiator. After I track it down I notice a hose is disconnected. Turns out it is a hose to the power steering pump. This hose is attached by a clamp. The only way the hose can come loose is if it breaks, or someone unclamps it. The hose wasn't broken, that leaves only one other alternative. I had driven the truck at least 500 miles since the last time I had popped the hood on it. and 1,500 since the last oil change. If I, or the oil change place, had done it it would've shown up long before. The only possible explanation is one of Redhorse's mechanics unclamped the hose. It appears to me like an intentional attempt by them to drum up some extra work.Worldwide > United States > McAlester, OK > Auto Repair
