By Far The Best Spa In The City
Everything about Silk Day Spa is exceptional! The staff is knowledgable and more than willing to cater to your every need. The hot stone massage I received was breath taking! It relieved any tention that I had upon my arrival. I also recieved the Papaya Mango Smoothie facial which left my skin clean, refreshed, and glistening. If I had to recommend one spa in the city, I would say Silk Day Spa!Horrific Experieince
I had the worst experience from a stone massage. It was like a nightmare. The girl has absolutely no clue what a stone massage should be, just did the regular sweedish moves except used stones instead of hands. The stones were hot and burnt my back. She appologized and 10 minutes again did it again. Used way too much oil and just repeatedly stoked my back and legs with the rocks. Needless to say they will never see me there again.Details,Details,Details!!
Walking into Silk Day Spa, I was warmly welcomed with the staff already knowing my name when I had never been there before!! The reception staff all were so eager to help out offering different fruit infused water, tea, and jelly beans. The questionairre had questions that no spa I've ever been to has ever asked and this made my massage that much better. The locker room was fully stocked with everything I needed for my dinner appointment that followed. My massage therapist was so personable and made me feel like gold in both skill and the comfort level he created. (I was hesitant on trying a male therapist). From head to toe, and the places I requested focus on, all knots were untied. As busy as this spa is, it amazes me how much attention to detail Silk puts into everything. I would rate this a 6-star spa!Who would have thought...
That this storefront spa had a gorgeous underbelly of spa treatments and excellent service.not all services are created equal
while I've had excellent massages at Silk, I recently made the mistake of adding a pedicure. The seating was extremely uncomfortable, especially for a tall person, and since it was scheduled after the massage, I lost all the benefits of the excellent deep tissue treatment. To their credit, when i complained, they did not charge me for the pedicure. Although I appreciated that, it did not make up for the pain I was in or the waste of time and money for a massage whose benefits I did not get to enjoy. Now a loyal customer
I am a frequent spa goer and Silk is by far the best spa in New York. The staff is really friendly and always looking to help. It seems like they really care. Whenever my girlfriends ask where to go for a spa visit I now tell them to go to Silk.Ask for Tom and the Untie the Knot Massage
I've had hundreds of massages in my life and I'd rank Tom as one of theGreat Massage, Reliable Service
I've been here twice for a Hot Stone Massage, and each time they've been great. The service from the receptionist to the bathroom attendants was perfect...they were calm and didn't interrupt the flow of the experience. The ambiance was perfect as well. It's a peaceful and clean place. I recommend it.Not Recommended at all
I had been to Silk in February and had gotten the Eastern Indulgence. It was an amazing experience and so i returned again, with my boyfriend for a massage. When i booked the appointment, i asked for 2 massage therapist that had previously been employed at Silk Sookie and Way but both were now gone. The receptionist gave me the names of the two people that would be massaging my boyfriend and me, and they both sounded like women names so i took the appointment. Well upon arrival, we found out my massage therapist would be a man. What the hell? They had suddenly changed. i was very uncomfortable with that but i still went along with it. Anyway, i proceeded to have the worst massage ever. My boyfreinds massage therapist did not even use the essential oils that Silk promises. He claims it was the worst massage he's ever gotten and mine was not good at all either. With the high amount that Silk now charges you would expect to receive excellent service. Well we recieved much less than perfect. My boyfriend told me the crappy massages i give him every night are much better than the one he received at silk.A relaxing time--I was out!
I went to Silk Day Spa for my bday. I got the stone massage and the house facial. It was amazing! I was in a total zen place the whole time.Great Experience!
I recently went to Silk on a Monday morning, tired from the weekend and not willing to start the week like that, so I took the day off, and went to Silk!! It was beautiful inside, the locker rooms..(shouldnt be called locker rooms..they are so beautiful and CLEAN!) nice showers, plenty of towels and nice robes! went to the "relaxation area" to wait for my therapist, Eileen, and she escorted me to the room, very polite and she REALLY listened and focused on all the areas that needed it the most, and was a really Great massage.... I was so relaxed(not really like me at all) and enjoyed every minute that I completely forgot about the outside world for part of my day. It was just what I needed!! I would Recommend going on a Monday to start your week right!a wonderful nyc spa!
silk day spa is a wonderful, not-to-be-missed experience. ever since i have been there, very few other spas have measured up. that is - if you go during a time when it's not packed with people. friendly service, great facials and hot stone massages....Not quite a 'Spa'
I enjoyed my facial at silk and am generally okay with the quality of the facial i received. But if you are expecting a 'spa experience', this will not do. By 'Spa' I mean a nice sauna, steam, waterfalls, a special place like great jones or something like that. Unfortunately, that is what I wanted and that is what the reviews here led me to beleive I would get. But if you just want a facial and mani/pedi, then silk would do. Would I go there again? maybe. Would I recommend it to my friends? not exactly. I would go to a nail spa and pay half the price.Horrible Customer Service
Customer service....Not sure they know what customer service means...The staff answering the phone is extremely rude and unhelpful. The most unpleasant spa I have experienced.Cattle Treatment
Rather than a warm and fuzzy feeling that I was expecting, my day at Silk Spa made me feel like I was part of a herd of cattle. I was rushed to the lockers, called by the wrong name, waited for fresh towels and then had a mediocre facial by a woman who couldn't wait to get me off the bed! It wasn't at all what I expected- yet it certainly cost plenty.Beautiful Spa
Silk Day Spa has a beautiful interior, with Eastern-style design. The relaxation room is exotic and zen-like, and you can munch on yummy jelly beans and chilled water while you wait. The therapists I've worked with have all been lovely and accomodating ... the only suggestion I would make is that they need better trained behind-the-counter people - they always seem new and unsure of what they're doing.Great for groups!!!!
In my line of work (ad sales), I frequent many spas in New York with clients and I was so pleased with my recent appointments at Silk. My colleague and I took a small group of clients to Silk to treat them and I was blown away at how easy the staff at Silk made it for us. Upon arrival, the friendly staff took over and made sure that we were as comfortable and relaxed as possible. The beautiful locker room and "relaxation area" really made an impression on my clients and the therapist were ?out of this world" as one client put it. We had a caterer deliver a few small treats to enjoy after our service and the staff took care of everything and set up a beautiful display for us while we were in our treatments. It's obvious they've definitely done this before and are very comfortable with accommodating groups. From booking to saying goodbye this was a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back!Worst Customer Service from the Descendants of Genghis Khan
My friend, who is Korean, got a facial at this spa. The owners of the establishment are also Korean, and so one would assume they would know how to treat the facial skin of someone that is similar to them. Instead, they messed up her skin with a facial giving her bumps, dryness and causing a massive breakout. When she went in to rectify the situation, the owners tried to make it better but in fact made her skin worse. Two days later, my friend called the spa because the bumps and breakouts were not going down, and the skin specialist that treated her told her to call her if the skin was not healing. When she called, the workers said the owner was not available.BEST MASSAGE EVER!
Thanks to Lynda, it was my best massage yet! I had the Silk Supreme Massage and it was the most relaxing 90 minutes ever! I had a knot on my back (near spine) for almost a year now and I could not figure out why for the life of me. I told Lynda about it, she found it on my back then worked her magic concentrating on that area and my knot is gone! I will definitely be there for round two :) THUMBS UP!great massage
