Avoid the roof deck if you do not like to be surrounded by second hand smoke.
One of the apparenlty very few restaurants in Boston that have decided to compromise the above average food with poor atmosphere. 4 of us ate during the rust hour on a recent Saturday and found the service to be adequate but the atmosphere to be sophomoric. Fiore needs to decide if their roof is a bar or a dining area. It cannot be both as long as they allow both cigarette and pipe smoking.Worst Italian Food I've ever had. I think the school cafeteria did much better. Harsh but true!
Hmmm, where should I begin. I went there a month ago with 3 friends and not one of us found anything remotely redeeming about this place. The space was out dated, like something out of a 1970's bad Italian mob movie. We were all in agreement that popping open a jar of Prego and boiling up a mixture of some really bad packaged ravioil, gnocci or tortelonni would have been a much better alternative to what we got. Everything was under seasoned, the tomato sauces were watery like a BAD MARINARA. My friend said his Chicken Parm. was like shoe leather and to make matters worse the bread they served seemed like it came from the bottom of the bin. The salad's were good but that's annoying to even have to mention. The dessert was "old school" Italian style and seemed like it had probably been sitting in a freezer for months prior to them defrosting it. The waitress was (bluntly) A Mess, a total disaster of a server! A ten year old would have known more about Italian food from eating at chukee-cheez than she did.Best for Special Occassions
I just went to Ristorante Fiore last night for my brother's 21st birthday (right before a bruins game) and let me tell you it was an absolutely perfect celebration. Before our reservation time I asked the manager if it were ok to bring in an outside cake and have them light candles and sing happy birthday at the end of our meal - it was NO PROBLEM! I was so happy, the manager seems tough but he was so accommodating to us (a party of 6). I have no idea why people are complaining about their entrees being unseasoned and the sauces being watery - all of our dinners were divine. My brother, who doesn't have a palate at all, ate all of his food including his salad and cherry tomatoes in his entree! I had the Bombolotti alla Vodka (signature dish) and it was absolute heaven. For all of our dishes the salads had amazing texture and well seasoned dressing, pastas were perfectly al dente and steaks were cooked just as we liked them. Our server was very intelligent of the Italian cuisine and got us out of the restaurant in time for the Bruin's game (at our request). At the end of our meal we were searching for our waiter (since we were running out of time for the game and wanted to tell him about the cake) but he showed up by his own instinct with the Birthday cake all lit and a large group behind him singing ?Happy Birthday?! It was a perfect Birthday and dinner - my brother was very happy and impressed.Move the Chef across the Street!
This place had great food. I'm eating the leftovers right now! Only thing is, my girlfriend's chicken parm somehow got mixed up with my marsala pasta and sauce. Terrible service all night. It took forever to get our orders in and when they came the waiter put my girlfriend's dish in front of me. When I politely said that it was her's and not mine, he tried to correct me! The host placed us in an area upstairs which was entiely unromantic. Tables were close together, kids were running by constantly and the music was awful. Oh, and a note to the owners, pasta should be included in the price of a meal, especially one that is highly priced. I'll not be back, unless they offer takeout at a reduced rate.Disappointing - Nice Atmosphere, Mediocre Food and Poor Service
I find that it's tough to find a good spot in the North End that is both classy and reasonably priced with stellar food so I had high hopes for Fiore. Ordered a rum and diet coke at the bar it was made with regular coke not diet, no big deal. Then from where I was sitting I could see all the male staff flipping through stuff at night and pointing out different body parts to each other on the models inside the magazine....classy. From the bar I sat down with my friend and got bread, it was ice cold, it came oil no parmesan. It was 8 degrees outside and because it was dead inside (even on a Thursday night) I had to keep my coat on the entire time of my meal it was ridiculous. Everyone in there looked freezing. The waiter was attentive and nice enough but when he saw that my friend and I were not going to be ordering appetizers and lots of drinks he totally wrote us off it was very apparent and made us feel almost unwelcome. My gnocchi was decent but nothing memorable. We ordered a drink and entrees but he treated us like we didn't belong there. I eat out FREQUENTLY and a good waiter should never deliver service based on what you order. Overall the experience was disappointing especially for the price of their food and drinks. My vote would be to skip it.Unbeatable special event location!
Shout out to Melinda Rossi w/event planning & the folks at Ristorante Fiore!! I recently held my fiance's 40th birthday party here and it was amazing! The private dining area was perfect & directly across from the rooftop deck area. Melinda Rossi was fabulous & helped me plan down to the last detail, including arranging the repair of the birthday cake that was purchased elsewhere and packaged poorly so that it slid off of the tray! I received kudos from all of my guests. This is a first class place to hold your special event!Should have read reviews before going!
We love the North End for lunch and dinner or just to have a drink or even coffee. I have never written a review before but our experience was just so bad, we had to warn people.Only accoustic piano jazz n North End
Well me and my girlfriend stumbled up on Fiores as a sweet date. Well went in for the food but were more than presently surprised by a great solo jazz piano player. He was wonderful. The food was great but listening to him while we enjoyed our meal. was a treat. Piano players name was Nick somethingAll I CAN SAY IS WOW!!! BEST IN THE NE
I recently attended a 47th year birthday there for one of my best friends. There was ten of us and let me tell you it was first class dining all the way!! The wait staff was amazing recommending a reasonable priced wine that was delicious, the antipasto and dinner specials were out of this world. I'm Italian and have grown up eating grandma's food that I thought could never be beaten. I was wrong!!! Every one of us ordered something different off the menu and no one was disappointed. The gravy was fantastic. (Sorry grandma) Although the birthday boy recommends the Bombolotti alla Vodka I don't think you can go wrong with any dish. I will definitely be back again. A hat off to Fiore's......Great food, great service!
I went to Fiore for Valentines Day and the food was outstanding. The con was trying to pick only one entree to order. The waiter was very helpful and friendly. I will be recommending Fiore in the future.Piano Player Nick Laudani now located at Zygomates

The only reason for the 1 star and not a total 0 was the waiter.Worldwide > United States > Boston, MA > Italian Restaurants
