Dr. Riley and his Staff are GREAT!!
I have to say Dr. Riley and his staff are great. They are very reasonable and they are helpful. I have gone there for more than 10 years and as a kids my parents brought there dogs to Dr. Riley. He is very honest and explains things to you. He takes his time with you and your loved one no matter what.

I can't say enough for Dr. Riley. I have had pets for all of my life and I have lived in many different places so my exposure to different vets is vast. He is top notch. Genuinely compassionate, not looking to make you take a second mortgage on your house. He makes taking excellent care of your pet doable and for that I am so very grateful.

I called the vet at 10am telling them my 3yr old, 8lb Yorkie had been vomiting all morning and had bloody diarrhea. They said they couldn't see him until 4pm. Come on - this wasn't an appointment for a vaccination, or a follow up for something, this was an acute problem that needed to be evaluated now. Because he's only 8 lbs he could have died before 4pm from dehydration and bleeding. I'll never recommend this vet.

SANTA CRUZ VET ROCKS!!!!
Dr. Riley is about the best. I have a few animals and he is really great with them so much they don't mind going. He is always gentle and talks to them. The staff is really great and they all have been for a long time so he doesn't change staff very often. So if the staff stays he is a good doc. So the person that said you couldn't get in till 4pm they must of really been busy. I can useally get in right away. So i say to the Santa Cruz Vet Doc and staff you guys ROCK!!!!!!!

We are an extremely busy clinic who not only sees appts all day but we are a full surgry site as well we can only do soo much a day. If it was really busy that day which I think was the case you were lucky to get an appt. There are even times when we stay after hours or after we close to do emergency which is not i repeat not a service we have to offer because there are emergency clinics just for that! I believe we are truly a caring place to bring your animals because we truly do enjoy our jobs! I alos want to thank everyone else for such great reviews thank you for letting us get to know your animals it truly is a pleasure!

Even thought I have a vet's office 1 block away from my house, I still travel 30 minutes across town to his office. I trust and would recommend Dr Riley to anyone. Thank you. I took my Pugs to Dr. Riley for their first visit this week (July 2010). My older Pug desperately needed a teeth cleaning. Let me just say this - if you are looking for a Vet who is not only highly skilled but makes providing topnotch healthcare for you pets possible -- at a very affordable rate -- then seek no further. If you have been hesitating in getting your pets teeth cleaned because of the cost then you no longer have to worry, and honestly they DO need their teeth cleaned from time to time! Also, my Pugs had other issues (eye & skin problems). Dr. Riley not only provided excellent care but he gave me more valuable insights than all the other Vets I had previously seen.

USE CAUTION WITH THIS VET
i took my 10 yr old lab here, she was diagnosed with diabetes,her glucose level was over 400 but the vet said only 3 or 4 people have ever been able treat this at home and that it will cost me a lot of money, I need to put her down. i took her to ANOTHER VET , after a inexpensive blood test to check her kidneys she was started on insulin shots at home and in i week her glucose level is NORMAL. 24.00 a month for insulin and 30.00 for a blood test every 6 months, use CAUTION WITH THIS VET!!!!

From the moment we walked in the door we were treated with kindness and respect. They asked us how we wanted to proceed. They allowed us to stay with our dog throughout the entire process. They were compassionate with the dog, petting her and giving her something to help her to relax. They let us stay with her until we were ready to leave. They brought us kleenex, and let us cry.
