This is a husband and Wife team ~ She "runs the show"...He is the main Contractor. I have no qualms with their work, which was done well. BUT.. Ray failed to quote me a solid "BID'..and said he could not. He also failed to give me a quote for his hourly standard rate. They worked here..three maybe four days...building an Porch extension.. They went "over budget"..and instead of immediately letting me know..they waited..until the project was almost finished.. They then took a two hour swim in the river (Their lunch-time)..and then came back and told me they went over budget, and were losing money. I became agitated..and said they should have said sometime, at the time they figured out their "loss"....not LATER..and not letting me have any communication or knowledge. After I paid them a four figure amount and wrote a courtsey note of thanks and appreciation for the fine and efficient work. That had the temerity to send me a nasty letter, stipulating that they "did not feel comfortable having me as a client, and they would no longer be able to have me use them for any of their services, large or small".... This letter was intended to be spiteful and hurtful to me, personally. I responded that I never intended to use them in the future, and I have other options, with other Contractors...and felt they were extremely unprofessional in their demeanor and the way they failed to communicate...Also all REAL Professionals always submit a solid quote. and state their hourly rate...which they failed to do..because of their lack of knowledge in what it would cost... I would not use these people for any maintenance or anything else. I have also spoken to my Neighbors, in regard to this nasty letter. They all feel the same way..and will not use the two indidviduals.
