One of the best veggie restaurants
For vegetarians in Houston, Quan Yin is one of the best places to go. Most of its entrees include meat-like substitutes or tofu. The waitress is friendly and honest about what's the best on the menu. The price is reasonable and the portions are huge!I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!
I'm a Houston native, but have since moved away. Every time I visit Houston I MUST come here because it's one of my favorite restaurants of all time. I'm a long time vegetarian and you can't beat the quality, flavor, and uniqueness of the food at Quan Yin. The soups are phenomenal and the vermicelli can't be beat. On top of that, it's very inexpensive. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone, carnivores and herbivores alike.Fabulous.
The boy and I are vegan, and as you might imagine, it's very difficult to find restaurants that serve entirely vegan meals or can readily accommodate a vegan diet. We keep our expectations low when dining out. Quan Yin blew us away. The food was superb and plentiful, and when we mentioned to the waiter that we were vegan, he began a conversation with us about it and knew what he was talking about! This is our new favorite restaurant, and I'd recommend it to anyone, vegan and non- alike.Excellent vegetarian restaurant
This restaurant is completely vegan, so no matter how much like meat, chicken, or fish your entree may seem to be - it really is vegetarian. We ordered the chicken fried steak, and it was the most delicious of any soy steak weve ever eaten. The smoked tofu and eggrolls were also wonderful. This is not a fancy restaurant, but one that provides pleasant service and truly awesome food. Their website, quanyinvegetarian.com, has photos of menu items.Absolutely Amazing Vegetarian Restaurant. Veggie Meat That Will Fulfill Your Cravings!
I recently gained more of an interest in becoming a vegetarian due to the cruelty of the corporate "food animals" mass slaughter. Yet, I still get those cravings for beef, chicken, and seafood. I am so lucky to have found this restaurant, because the food is so delicious. I tried the "veggie chicken fried steak", my girlfriend had the "veggie chunk beef plate", and my other friend had the "egg-less egg rolls" on a bowl of vermicelli and sprouts. As an appetizer we had the "fried dumplings". We were absolutely amazed at every dish we tried. The dumplings were delicious and crisp. The chicken was stringy as I took bites out of it and tasted amazingly like the real thing. The beef had the texture of beef and a flavor that will definitely satisfy that beef craving and the fried rice was delicious. And the egg-less egg rolls were the best we've ever had. As if that were not enough, the portions were massive! Oh, and they gave us a huge bowl of complimentary steamed white rice. The service was excellent, staff is very nice. The atmosphere could be cozier, but I'd rather leave their energy to continue making delicious vegan food. We ended up spending $27 among the three of us and left with 3 containers full of the extra food that we couldn't eat. Absolutely Amazing! Go. Now.Excellent Food, lousy service.
I have been going to the Quan Yin for over 10 years. I have always had horrible service except for a guy who left 5 years ago. Like most oriental restaurants, they give you one glass of water unless you get there attention. I have never written review of a restaurant until now. The last time I went I was asked for my drink order and the staff was on break, the server went back to the group and talked for a couple of minutes until they were ready to get our drinks. The portions have dramatically dropped in size over the years. I will go to them only a couple of times per year now. I only wrote this review, because they?re website has no contact link. I hope they improve their restaurant, because their food rocks!Good food, horrible service
Great restaurant for vegetarians, however their customer service isn't so great.Worldwide > United States > Houston, TX > Restaurants
