Terrible services

Customers are required to clean up the shower place after taking the shower because the facility could not effort to hire the cleaning services.

Great classes, bad management!!

There are a lot of great things about this gym: the classes are AWESOME! Karen's boot camp, the body sculpt classes, Debbie and Whitney's step classes... they're all top notch and really make PLF stand out among other gyms. I love that this gym feels like family and everyone is so encouraging.

We love our gym

Dear Lord,
Please bless my favorite gym Premiere Lady Fitness so that it will continue to grow and prosper.
I love my classes, the instructors are awesome, the daycare staff are friendly and the trainers are helpful.
Its my sanctuary where I go to de-stress and get energized, knowing that my kids are having fun in the daycare while I enjoy 2 hours of "me time".
Its a local family owned business where everyone knows your name. I have made many great friends over the years.
Customer service is what keeps me there. I thank the owners for taking our concerns seriously and addressing them in a timely manner.

Thanks for Listening PLF Owners!!

I love this gym for many reasons. It's an intimate family setting with great members of all ages and fitness levels. It's great that it's a women only gym with few bells and whistles. It's strengths are in it's person-ability with great class offerings, top notch instructors, and great child care. They appeared to be moving in a new direction with minimal challenging classes and more pay extra classes, canceling or changing the format of popular classes that would compete with the upcoming pay-extra classes, which some of us may or may not have been able to afford. Recent management response has been very positive, however. Thanks for listening to your dedicated members, PLF - that encourages us to invite our friends to join!!

Several Classes Cut!

The classes have been great. That's why I have been going there forever. The body sculpt classes and Debbie's fitness classes are the best. It's been like family and everyone is so encouraging.
But everything has changed wit the new management. They have cut several classes that I love. I hope this does not continue! I've loved this gym for years but may have to leave because it is just not the same.

SAVE OUR GYM!!!

I am a member of Premiere Lady Fitness. I originally signed up with Figure World in 1991. I have been a dedicated member for over 20 years. During this time I have had many opportunities to explore other options but I have never strayed from the gym I love most. My mother is also a member and has been for several years. She is 72 years old and attends faithfully 3-4 times a week. I attend classes six days a week. I am saddened by the recent change of events at our gym in South Austin. I am dismayed at the cancellation of Body Sculpting (Debbie), Hard Bodies (Terry), Power Hour (Karen), Spin (Cori) and other classes that have ardent and solid attendance. The instructors are incredible and have a unique relationship with each and every member. We are a close-nit family and it will be a deep loss when my friends cancel their memberships to go to other gyms that will accommodate their needs. Many a night after spin a group of us sit in the dry sauna to visit. It is some of the best times I have ever had! We have a bond that is unique compared to other gyms. If only the walls had ears you would know what a profoundly negative effect this has had on the morale of all ladies who are members at PLF. I too pray that management will re-evaluate their decision to cancel these classes. I realize that times are hard and we need to cut corners where we can but not at the expense of our members. This is a disservice to the dedicated women of this gym! I will not renew my membership at the end of December if the classes are not re-instituted. Please listen to your members, their voices ring the truth! Please do the next right thing and save our gym!!!

Please Save PLF!

I'm giving my gym a one star rating. 12 years ago when I joined it would have gotten a 5 star rating and an excellent review. However that is not the case now. The gym is run down, needs new spin bikes and a bunch of classes have been cut. The atmosphere is so negative that it makes it an unpleasant place to work out. Exercising for me is such a positive and rewarding experience. Not at Premiere Lady. I have been to the Y, 24 hour and Lifetime and have decided that PLF pales in comparison. It's unfortunate because it used to be a great place to work out! I have made many friends over the years and most of them are leaving to go to a gym that is there for and because of the members. If there are not immediate changes made I will cancel my membership as well. Given that management does not care it probably won't matter. However it will matter to me.

Updated: Cautiously optimistic for eco-friendly cleaning

****Wanted to update here that the owner (who was VERY approachable and helpful) is working on the cleaning solutions to make them more eco-friendly! As of April 2011, I am continuing my membership to see how it goes...am hopeful!***

My experience is very mixed at this "health" club. I would rate this club 5 stars for the focus on family and getting to know me as a person when I am at the club. However, the look, feel, and smell (!)** of the South PL health club is sub par. When it comes to the toxic cleaning smells, and the chilly management, this place is a 1.

**Note that if you are AT ALL sensitive to smell (and even if you aren't usually, you may be here), be sure to check on your comfort level regarding the strong-smelling, bright yellow cleaning supplies before you sign a club agreement. Especially think about this if you, or your children, are at all prone to breathing problems.

FYI: When I wrote to the Club Manager, Le'Ann Pierce, proposing some ideas for healthy alternatives to the toxic smelling cleaning supplies they use, I got a response that didn't seem to take my health, or my child's health, into account, or really care very much about if I continued my membership or not.

After my warm, caring experience with the on-site staff and members at this club, this was the last thing I expected! Not only was Le'Ann non-commital about changing to eco-friendly products, but she also seemed to emphasize the importance of the renovation that is in the works over the current health of members, children, and the PL staff. (I cannot even imagine being one of the women who has to use those products to clean the club.)

What could have been a win-win situation--getting a chance to satisfy a member, and advertise that they are a "clean green" facility--turned into the manager telling me she would "love to work with me" to "close out [my] agreement with Premiere Lady Fitness."

I am sad to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere, but will miss the sense I had of being part of the family-friendly community at the South PL club.
