I set up an initial consultation with Nicole Reider on 6/12/12. She proceeded to tell me that I was an ideal candidate for laser hair removal and mentioned it would take 5 -6 sessions to completely remove the hair in my bikini area. We discussed pricing, I scheduled my first session on 6/22/12 then I was on my merry way. On 6/22/12 I arrived for my first session. Nicole explained what was going to happen step by step which was nice. After they finished the procedure, there wasn’t any pain my bikini area just felt a little tender. The following night my inner thighs felt extremely tender. When I took off my jeans I noticed a bright red circular burn on my inner right thigh. My inner left thigh had three smaller bright red circular burns. The top layer of my skin was completely gone. On 6/25/12 I called the office and told the nurse what happened. I received a follow up call on Tuesday. They wanted me to come into the office however the weather was really bad; Tropical Storm Debby was in full force. I didn’t want to drive in these conditions so I told them the wounds were getting better. I decided to do my own research on laser hair removal. I also scheduled consultations with two other laser hair removal businesses because I knew I never wanted to go back to Premier Aesthetics. I ended up selecting someone to complete my laser hair removal. She’s a National Board Certified Laser Hair Removal Specialist with over 14 years of experience. She’s got hundreds of rave reviews through numerous websites and excellent customer testimonials on her own website. She also actually looked at the area where I wanted the hair removed to determine what would be the best laser for my skin tone/hair color unlike Nicole. She was extremely knowledgeable and I trusted her from the get-go. On 7/3/12 I called the office & mentioned I was dissatisfied with the service, was not going to continue the hair removal through them & would like a refund. I was asked to come in so they could see the burns. On 7/5/12 I went into the office. They had the nerve to tell me that the marks didn’t look so bad. They said the instrument used is rectangular so a burn would be rectangular instead of round. I couldn’t believe that they weren’t taking any ownership at all for my burns. They wouldn't issue a refund because they provided a service. I guess the burns were complimentary. I noticed that the before and after photos, on their website, state in teeny tiny letters at the bottom of each picture, “Photos Courtesy: Kyle Holmes, MD. Davis Laser Center, CA. USA”. I should have asked to have seen before and after photos of laser hair removal that Nicole had actually done, not what another doctor had done but I didn’t and that’s my big mistake. Please learn from my experience and always ask for before and after photos of work actually done or you may be in for a big surprise and awful experience. This goes for any business, not just Premier Aesthetics. I hope people can learn from my experience to avoid a painful, dangerous situation like this. Please remember that the use of medical and/or aesthetic laser systems is regulated in some states however Florida is not one of them so buyer beware!
