Never disappoints
Last night was my third visit to Po and the food, as usual, was delicious. Service was excellent - at the restaurant's consistent standard. I had the lamb cooked medium rare with eggplant, the lamb was juicy, tasty and left me totally satisfied. I thought the eggplant accompaniment was so-so due to the skin's chewy texture but flavorings were perfect. My friend had the pork - I found it ever so slightly dry (but pork's often like that). The salad appetizer was simple but good, it wasn't saturated in oily dressing but came with an excellent vinegarette on the side. There are so many choices along that street and Po is a favorite I've no problem returning to.yummy food in a great setting
my boyfriend and i came here for dinner and we both loved it. food was delicious--I had an excellent porcini-crusted cod and he had the orichette. both were wonderful, although the pasta portion was a bit large. service was excellent, and the setting cozy and romantic. my only advice is to go early to try to snag one of the three tables in front of the windows--they're awesome for people watching.Great food great service
Wonderfull experience had a great dinner and great service. Friendly staff.Cant wait to go back Thank youGreat, great, great food - you can taste the love in every bite!
First review for me - i usually recommend by word of mouth - but I cant explain how delicious our experience was with each plate. I'd deem myself a foodie - been to most of the event dining spaces and have plenty of locals that I love. I've been wanting to cross this one off the list for a while, but it might have a permanent ranking at the top. If you're curious, make a reservation - on Tues we made a Thurs res for 9:00. Walked in at 9:02 and we were seated straight away. Great host, totally gracious server and everything came out quickly. Overall, I didnt feel like I was on a crazy food adventure - most foods were simple, traditional italian dishes. But each plate tasted like it was homemade and it was so fresh. It felt like it was thrown together magically in seconds, rather than prepped the day before by an army of cooks in the (tiny) kitchen in the back.yummy!
Po is hands down my favorite place. I've gone many times and have always had the best experience. The service is always friendly and attentive and the waiter even remembered us last time and graced us with an amazing and free sundae:) The pasta is amazing and the white bean bruschetta is addicting. My boyfriend and I always have the best time, as does everyone else I've taken there.Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous
The chef's tasting menu here is really the best deal in town. The food is fantastic and for $50 it's tough to beat. The service was good, the many courses were exciting and for dessert, they brought each of us a different item so that we could taste a bit of everything: I thought that was a really nice touch. For a crowded and busy place, no one tried to rush us; although I was a bit annoyed that they sat us next to the kitchen in spite of the reservation I'd made, it was true that our party was one person short of what I'd reserved for. This did not get in the way of our meal.DELICIOUS FOOD!!
I went here the other night and had a fabulous time. The dining room was tightly packed but my date and I lucked out by getting the seat next to the window so it was very intimate and romantic. We had the gorgonzola pine nut crusted salad with arugula and beets which was very unique and delicious and I ordered the black fettucine with mussels, sundried tomatoes, green chilis and scallions! It was amazingly yummy and I HIGHLY reccomend trying this place. It's definitely all about the food at this place. The overall ambiance is very chic New York without trying too hard and it is in a great location in the middle of the West Village. My date got the gnocchi and although my dish turned out to be the real winner both of us were happily pleased. Also we just stepped in at 8:45 pm on a Wed night and were seated immediately. It was busy but if there are seats open you will get one. I also did not feel rushed at all. The waiters were wonderful. When trying to decide between two of the white wines the waiter poured us a taste of each to decide. It was a very nice touch. It was beautiful night.Best Italian Brunch Anywhere!
I have been eating at Po for dinner for years and the food, service, wine and atmospher get better every time I go. I am stunned that they are able to still impress me after all these years with their unbeleivable food, amazing wine and now incredible brunch! GO GO GO GO GO! The traditional egg fritatas are to die for, washed down with a proseco you feel like you are in Italy..... this is the best food experience yet! Reservations for dinner are nearly impossible, I highly reccommend their brunch to get a taste of the food. YUMMMMMMMMY!Very good food
Great Food
Fantastic food and atmosphereMario's not there anymore, but he might as well be!!!
I was looking for a special restaurant to take my boyfriend for a special occasion. We've been to soo many restaurants lately in the city that haven't really impressed us as they should have - restaurants that have been rated really well on Zagat, but turned out to be a bust. My friend introduced me to the website Eatery Expert @ www.eateryexpert - I guess you can call it a recommendation website. We wrote in and asked them where we should go - I was even open to Brooklyn. They came back with a few options and after much deliberation, we decided to go to Po. It was great - I couldn't have asked for a more delicous, more intimate restaurant. The service, food and ambiance was exactly what I was looking for. If you're looking for a special time, Po is your restaurant!Worldwide > United States > New York, NY > Italian Restaurants
