Terrible customer service

I will NEVER shop at this store again. The birds are kept in cages that are WAY too small. Also, their bulk bird food caused a moth infestation of my pantry. Unclean and do not treat their livestock well. The manager and owner were..."0" Stars, Banned, Boycotted

I went into this Pet World about 2 months ago to get a fish tank set up and the ladies and gentlemen who worked in the fish area were SO knowledgeable. And not only about their fish, but about products they carried. I was SO pleased with my experience I dropped almost a grand that day, and left tips for the fish employees. Also, the cashiers and stocker who carried my merchandise to my van were extremely friendly. Everyone just seemed to truly care about my needs and I will definitely support this local business again!I will never shop here again.
I will never shop here again. I stopped into the store to look at Lady Gouldian finches (prepared to purchase 2 of them, more than $100.00 each), and when I walked into the bird room, I was quickly chased out by a female employee because I had our Golden Retriever with me. Our dog loves to go to the pet stores. The employee told me that the dog could give the birds a disease, because not everyone takes their dog to the vet. I was highly insulted that she chased us out of the bird room and put back most of the items I came to purchase, except for the parakeet food that I needed. Our dog is well groomed and goes to the vet regularly, she was not very observant of our dog's appearance. No one I know that has knowledge of animals could tell me what kind of disease a dog could pass on to a bird. I will continue to tell this story to everyone I run into to see if they know of the disease. There are 3 other pet stores on BlueMound Road that would be happy to have my business as we have aSTAY AWAY!

Unclean and do not treat their livestock well. The manager and owner were rude when I tried speaking with them about my concerns. There's a new PetCo on Sunset that will be getting my business from now on.0 Stars, Banned, Boycotted
I have been going to the Petworld on Bluemound Rd. now for the last four years on litterlally a daily basis. I've come to be familiar wiht most of the employees and one in particular. An employee whome I thought was helpful, polite, and respectful, and a good kid. Well, after talking about some personal information to this employee, he continued to interogate me with a meniacle attitude. A fellow employee was also present during this conversation. Long story short, after spending thousands of dollars in that store(cat food, scorpions, fish, fish tank and supplies, more cat food, trial and error cat food, etc., he decided to belittle me about how much food I was buying at the time and disrecpected-as in f--k you, get out of my store !? Well, never again will I shop at a Petworld and giove them my MILITARY school BENEFITS, and retirement/savings money. And he also thinks that people on unwmploymwnt are lower then he is-including EX-MILITARY war veterans. My business, savingWorst Customer Advice Ever Heard.
I go into petworld regularly just to look around, pick up essentials for my fish and hampster. I was browsing through the fish room and heard an employee tell a customer that common plecos are the best algae eaters they can buy. The customer asked if it would be good in a 10 gallon tank. The employee said it will only grow to 6.... WHAT? Common plecos grow to 18 easily. I told the customer that it would easily outgrow the tank and that a bristlenose would be much much better. The employee then said that the common pleco would die before it would reach that size. Well, I guess I should say that the employees do not know jack when it comes to fish. Bristlenose are the absolute BEST algae eater you can buy and stay small (under 6) and common plecos are monsters and are terrible algae eaters. Now I understand that he may have some general knowledge about plecos, but I have bred and raised rare pleco species for years now and felt insulted.filthy living conditions!
This is one of the worse places to go and buy anything. I was especially shocked by the condition of the bird room and the birds. It was filthy, yes filthy. The birds where very crowded, poop everywhere, very filthy food dishes, old feces covered newspapers in the cages and the parrots and cockatiels were especially dirty. The finches had no nests, straw toys. filthy water and so on. A pet store should model how a prospective owner of a bird or other pet should be taken care of by displaying a safe and clean environment. I was shocked and saddened by such filth! Also, seed moths were flying everywhere. Don't buy from them at all, you may get an infestation of moths in your home and they are hard to get rid of. I have every intention of following up on this to who ever will listen, BBB, state dept of health, humane society and so on. There is no excuse for such piggishnes just to make a buck. There should be ashamed!!!!!! Do not buy anything from them or other places that arHATE THIS STORE SO MUCH!
I've been shopping at this location since 2007 but will not be anymore. EVERY time I come here the products I need are not available! I come to buy stuff for my fish, bird, dogs, and rabbit and I can never get everything I need in one trip; I always have to go back the next week. Also, every time I am there, it seems the employees are grumpier and more pissed of and annoyed that they have to stop what they are doing to assist someone (and that INCLUDES the managers). I especially have problems with two specific cashiers and the people that work in the aquarium! The vibe of the whole place is just pure nasty. I'm sure business sucks right now with the economy but you don't have to take it out on your customers! I don't know why I gave this store so many chances but now I'm taking my business elsewhere. I suggest others save themselves the headache and do the same!Great for animals and set-ups
I was here last Saturday with my son and we wanted to look at some leopard geckos for his birthday coming up in a few weeks. The lady who assisted us was extremely friendly and knowledgeable but not pushy or anything (i think her name was Pam or Sam or something along that line, i cannot remember for sure). Anyway, she opened the cage for us and let us look at all the geckos for as long as we wanted. She then showed us a set-up they had on display, which I thought was reasonably priced for the amount of supplies that were included and compared to other stores. It was larger than what we were thinking about getting. So she showed us smaller cages and helped us price out smaller set ups. We found one that looked like it fit perfectly on my son's desk. We also found a healthy, good sized baby gecko we really liked.Worldwide > United States > Waukesha, WI > Pet Stores
