A Neighborly Neighborhood Pub
The line goes out the door of this unassuming pub in West Newton (in part because there's not much room to wait for a table). However, the long wait can be worthwhile if a nice pub meal is what you're...What a great restaurant!
I love Paddy O's. It's a neighborhood restaurant that serves up great food, great atmosphere, and plenty of Irish beers. Paddy O's is one of those places you go to when you crave shepherd's pie and a tall glass of Guinness. It always seems like a warm and welcoming place. The interior is filled with dark mahogany and has a bar that seats about 12. The place always has a lot of business, but I have never had to wait longer than 15 minutes for a table. Parking can be a problem because West Newton only has a couple parking lots for all of the many businesses in the town. One day, I drank a Guinness a little too quickly and when the Irish server appeared, she asked me if there was a hole in the bottom of my glass and quickly got me another glass full of beer. All that being said, the crowd is mostly older and they do not over-serve anybody. The food is great! I have never had a bad experience here. All of the food has fairly large portions and the price is in the $8-$15 range. Paddy O's isComfortable like an old pair of shoes
There is nothing outstanding about Paddy O's, but that's not a criticism. It's a comfortable place with good comfort food and good beer. The wait can get a little long sometimes, but usually it's not too bad during the week.Paddy's Pub is a Neighborhood & Family Place
We eat here as a family at least a few times a month. They have pizza and a broad menu, always with specials. I like Lily's Chicken Salad, but I have had chicken and salmon dishes too. It is dark and in winter very warm and cozy inside. We try and arrive ahead of the rush (eating at 5:30 on Sunday for example) as there can be a wait. Service is friendly, with more of a family restaurant feel than many pubs. They have been sponsoring an annual road race every year to benefit Newton Special Olympics. We have never gone, but it is a big bash.Worldwide > United States > West Newton, Newton, MA > Restaurants
