what's with the ticket ATMs?
This is the theater located in the newly refurbished downtown Culver City. The actual theaters are surprisingly small but have the ubiquitous stadium seating. The main gripe I have with this theater is the ridiculous ticket-purchasing system: 4 ATM-like contraptions in front of the theater with screens that wash out in the sun. We skip them completely and go inside to purchase tickets from the concierge (which is a trend that is catching on as other movie-goers realize the folly of the ATM system). No air conditioning!
Saw "Star Wars' last night and could not enjoy the movie due to the fact that there was no airc conditioning in the theater! The front lobby was air conditioned, but not the screening room. Yes, there's stadium seating, which is nice, but when the room is filled to capacity on a hot summer night, you need some air.Really good local theatre
So, it's not Mann's Chinese, but there is free parking across the street, there are rarely lines for tickets, and the sound and picture quality are both really good. Also, there are good eats nearby (the chicken place, the diner, and the asian place are all very good)Excellent Theater
This is a great theater. Located in the heart of downtown Culver City, it is next to several restaurants and bars. The theater is very clean, and has 12 theaters all with stadium stadium seating. The chairs are extremely comfortable and the aisles offer lots of room.Great location, big screens (for the mostpart)
Be careful not to get a screen in the back; they're tiny. Yes they're all stadium seating but imagine a room less than 40ft long with your neighbors almost hovering over you. However, their larger screens are terrific and the theater is clean. It's not a megaplex but has a decent assortment of movies and there's a parking lot near the Trader Joe's that's 3hrs free with validation, as well as another lot across Washington near the BofA building.New, clean and not too crowded
One of the better theater experiences in LA. For some reason it doesn't get too crowded, even for the bigger movies. Comfy seats, stadium seating. Too many seats too close to the screen, though. Matinee prices are cheaper.avoid - bad seating, bad sound, bad focusing
Consistently no seating. Moreover, if you sit in the wrong place you will be stuck watching an out of focus movie. not worth the ticket. Stay home & order in instead.Lousy Telephone Service
I called to have a specific information about a show, but could not speak to any live person. The telephone service is lousy and inconsiderate; the voice menu is HELL. It is designed (and badly so with even unwanted ads) to prevent you from having a live human being at the other end. It's outrageous that they can treat customers the way they do with their lousy telephone service. What a shame.....
I attend this theater often with my 7 year old daughter.pacific culver 12
