Pick a fish, any fish!
I love this store! They have a wonderful selection of fish and aquariums and all the accoutrements, and are very reasonably priced. I have found the staff to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The Best Damn Tropical Pet Store Period!
Amazing! When I walked into this store, the first thing I noticed was how clean and well kept this store is. I mean, how many times have you gone into a tropical pet store and all you smelled was damp, musty odors?? This was a real store. The next thing you notice is the amazing tropical saltwater reef tank displayed next to the counter. It's the most incredible piece of underwater art I've seen this side of Bali. The owner of Oranda Aquarium is the most knowledgeable person I know when it comes to tropical fish. He knows what he's talking about and after a few minutes of talking with him, you can sense a true honesty that you rarely get these days. He will ONLY sell you what you need, whether it'd be which fish to add to your collection or filteration system required in maintaining your investement. I invite you all to this place. It's truly an amazing store and believe me, as a fish enthusiast, I've been to other tropical pet stores and not one has come close to Oranda AquaGot ich from their plants
After building up my 10 Gal aquarium mostly from this store I was satisfied. I believe in giving the small shops a chance and I don't mind paying more to support them. But I also expect a better service and more care from them than you would at Petco for example.Best aquarium store in L.A.
First of all, this place is the best. It has everything, and what it doesn't have, the very helpful and knowledgeable owners and employees can get for you. The owner actually refused (respectfully) to sell me some plants until I set up my tank to properly care for them -- now that's caring service!Absolutely horrible!!!!!
This place has diseased fish, when I was just getting into the hobby I bought a fish and ended up loosing over $400 worth of livestock. When I came to see the owner he wouldn't even bother to talk to me, let alone try to fix something. This year my boyfriend bought a yellow carpet anemone, which according to the owner was fine. It died about 2 weeks later setting off my water chem in my nano. I would never recommend this place to anyone. someone who doesn't care about the livestock should not be in the industry! The Best Kept Secret
As I made my way to Trader Joe's through the parking, I've always noticed Oranda Aquarium. One day I decided to do a little window shopping. I was immediately impressed how well kept this store was compared to other fish stores I've visited in the past. I met the owner and he knew his stuff. So much so, that two weeks later, I was back in there purchasing a 50 gallon salt water tank. It is now 6 months since my purchase and I love my tank! I can't believe I didn't stop in there earlier....As Good As It Gets
this place is fine. i go all the time. anybody with a fish problem will be frustrated no matter the fish store or service you get. the owner & Douglas are helpful but have probably heard every excuse in the book. if they think you are going in to blame them, then forget about any service or freebies. but if you want to take a water sample in or discuss a problem w/o accusations, they''ll respond. they work with you, not for you nor will they argue with you.Best store good supplies
