PLEASE DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!!
I would give them negative points if they had any. Their management company is the worst! My fiance used to rent from them last year and the apartment was filled with roaches! No matter how clean they would keep the apartment; the roaches would come back.
When we got married we moved into a new apartment and there were roaches there too. This time they agreed to fumigate the place and I see roaches randomly now (once a month). I am a clean freak! so no matter how tired I am I never sleep without doing the dishes and cleaning up.
Three weeks after I moved in I noticed there is also mold in the bedroom CLOSET! They won't professionally clean it and if they do they will charge us for it. I understand mold can grow in an unclean area but usually in restroom and kitchen. I clean the area with bleach every week to keep the mold from spreading; but it is annoying to empty my closet every weekend. The last thing I want to do in my first year of marriage is spend Saturday morning cleaning mold! The stupid painters only painted over the old mold...
Furthermore, there was a break in at my apartment 5 weeks after i moved in and the thief took all my wedding jewelry and much more! Now miller won't provide iron bars to us for safety. All the other apartment units in the building have iron bars except ours. Additionally due to the break in we are scared of opening windows in our apartment in case of a repeat occurrence hence worsening the mold situation.
They won't let us break the lease and move into a security building, even if I agree to go with a Miller & Desatnik listing. They are very insensitive and unhelpful. Due to the break in and the wedding cost we can't afford to pay them all the cost related to breaking a lease...
I am eagerly waiting for my lease to end so I can move out and not deal with them ever again.
Please Save yourself misery and DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.

Horrible Management Company

I moved in only 5 weeks ago and the plumbing in my apartment is horrible. Every night, around dinner time, the sink backs up with other peoples garbage disposal waste. I've had to have the plumber come out 4 times already to "snake" the drain and he specifically told me that nothing will fix the problem short of re-piping the complex. There is no nope for this of course so each day I am left with a disgusting kitchen sink full of dirty water. I'm constantly cleaning. One Sunday night, the pressure was so bad in the pipes that MY garbage disposal couldn't take it anymore and exploded, flooding the entire kitchen. The plumbers had to come out and fix the disposal and then the maintance folks came to repair the boards under the sink, only for two weeks later it happens again! I've also found cock-roaches under my sink and in cupboards, but they insist there is no problem. I'm starting to document by video each problem so I can send to housing authority and get out of my lease, because they won't release me from my obligation and would like to keep my deposit. No one should have to live this way, or deal with the rude people at M&D. They won't return calls, fix problems, or treat you with any kind of respect. Save yourself time and money, don't rent from these people. I'll have to box all my stuff up and pay for another u-haul and take another weekend of switching everything to a new address. So much time and money waisted, that is, if I can get M&D to release me from this nightmare.

Miller & Desatnik = Completely incompetent!

The staff at Miller and Desatnik is completely incompetent, you would have better luck getting better service at the DMV.

As a past renter, please stay away if you dont trust my word for it, see the countless other reviews stating the same.

Building owners are going to learn people wont rent from a bunch of hack apartment managers. And Miller and Desatnik is the worst I have dealt with in all of Los Angeles.

M&D is the worst management company I've ever come across. They are incompetent crooks and you will regret ever giving them a dime. If anything goes wrong in your apartment, good luck getting in touch with with. Their staff is rude and well...dumb. Do yourself a favor and rent from literally ANY OTHER company in LA.

Criminal, Cruel, Heartless, Soulless - BEWARE!!!

They will not do anything to make sure the apartment is habitable & they will insist you live there & pay them even if it sickens you & is a threat to your life.

They force tenants out with the slightest provocation. Numerous times they served a 3 day pay or quit for rent that they actually received ON TIME. They are too incompetent to know who has paid & who has not. This caused 2 of my neighbors to be evicted in as little as 1 month's time. After 3 days, they claim the process cannot be reversed & claim you must pay an exorbitant amount of legal fees if you want to attempt it.

They claim they have a maintenance line & that if you leave a message, they will respond in 24 hours. Multiple calls to this line by numerous tenants & none of us ever received a call back.

If you go into the office in person (which you MUST do because they do not respond to telephone calls or emails), they always claim the person you want to talk to is "in the field." You have to insist on waiting there until they get back - otherwise, you will never see anyone. (You may be waiting there for hours) If get lucky enough to talk to a person, they are EXTREMELY RUDE, hostile & antagonistic. They will blame everything on you.

They are completely ok with unhabitable conditions such as pest invasion, fleas, rats & mold. They will not attempt to fix it. They will not compensate you for any damages whatsoever. They left tenants in deplorable living conditions for months to yrs. Maybe they hope these conditions will force people out of these rent-controlled apartments so that they can charge higher rent for the next tenant.

Fleas, rats, mites, mold, severe plumbing issues, holes in the walls - complete ruination of my furniture & many belongings - they do not care. After multiple complaints to them, to the BBB, the Housing Department and the Health Department, they still manage to insist that they provide excellent customer service.

I wish I could give them negative stars. Stars are too nice for this company.

They do not give back security deposits. Five of my neighbors & I never got back our security deposits, despite leaving our apartments in good condition.

I don't know what they do in this office, but it shouldn't be considered work - they are surely not performing any maintenance on their buildings or processing rent checks correctly.

They will not fix anything unless threatened by the Health Department, Housing Department or an attorney.

What they do is absolutely criminal & fraudulent. They do not have a conscience. They will watch your entire apartment deteriorate, watch your lose your possessions, get deathly ill from the mold & the fleabites & then force you to pay them for the privilege. (No tenants had any pets - these pests were caused by rats)

My neighbors told me that moving out was the best thing they had ever done. Many of them were traumatized by their experience living here. Many were forced out due to deplorable living conditions, but I feel the most sorry for the ones who told me they couldn't afford to move out such as the lady who has to spray down her daughter's bed every night with RAID which had been going on for several months, & another neighbor who had eyelids almost swollen shut from her multiple rat mite bites, which was ongoing for over a year. When she called management, they told her pest control was not their responsibility. Everyone in my 9 unit complex suffered from extensive mold, multiple plumbing leaks, rat fleas and rat mites.

They should be criminally prosecuted for what they have done to numerous tenants. They should be investigated & shut down and never be allowed to manage a single building anywhere in ANY COUNTRY EVER!!!

Until I lived here, I did not know what pure evil was. Living in one of these apartments could be dangerous to your health and even to your life. If you value your life, please stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
