very disappointed
I made the mistake of taking my Audi A4 to Mathews Carlsen. I am really disappointed with the quality of their work.\rlacking quality
It was a big mistake to get my Corvette repaired at Mathews Carlsen. \rworst car repair/body shop
Do not have anything done here. This is the absolute worst car repair/ body shop I have ever experienced. \ranother hit-and-run!
My review could be identical to the one I just read here. Someone completely smashed in the door of my nearly new Cross Country in a parking lot and just left! No note or anything, I still can't believe that. Anyway, Mathews fixed it in one week. Not just a repair, a complete replacement of new door and mirror and everything. Their paint job/finish was absolutely identical to the rest of the car, you can't even tell anything was ever done. Extremely helpful, friendly and courteous. When your car gets smashed
Two of our Volvos have been rear-ended over the years, and our dealership recommended Matthews Carlsen for the repair work. They made our cars look like new, and worked directly with the other party's insurance company to collect payment. They were able to get us up and running in a reasonable amount of time, and the staff were very courteous and easy to deal with.If they are better than bad shops (as I was told), then god help us!
Took in my car to them and got just about the worst work done..... ever.very disappointed

Took it in and got the rear end done (re-paint the rear hatch, part of the roof, rear bumper cover and install new glass). Later that day noticed that the pigment of the paint was missing/fading out on the right side of the hatch. Not a little, but A LOT. Then had to haggle with them about the bad job they did (in addition, on the left side of the hatch, there were had obvious dull spots in the paint that were rough to the touch). After spending about 15 minutes trying to politely point out obvious substandard work, they begrudginly said they would re-do it. Got the car back and the color was right, but I later found another unbuffed spot on the roof and that they had put my roof mounted Yakima bike carrier on completely misaligned. Then on a rainy morning driving to work I had to use the rear window wiper only to see if flailing randomly around. Turns out that they didn't tighten down the wiper bolt properly and now the wiper shaft is stripped so the wiper still doesn't work properly even after tightening. At this point, though, I'm afraid to go back only to have them mess up again. I also noticed a rattling in the hatch and a few months later I saw the trim panel for showing signs of pulling away from the hatch. Turns out that when reinstalling the trim they bent MOST of the retaining pins on the left side! Unfortunately, since I found out about the last item about a year later I don't feel its worthwhile going to them to complain (and my prior experience gafter oing back to them within 2 days was bad enough).Worldwide > United States > Palo Alto, CA > Body Shops
