Getting Thru
Sundays are so popular I had to stop going or risk being crushed together. Well, actually I just started hanging out by the porta-johns. Is this the fate that must befall an avid bear-chaser? Alas.casual
I've only been to Lone Star once, but, the crowd was low-key and friendly. This is a great bar if you are a bear or chubby chaser.Hot Men! Real Men!
my favorite bar when I come into the city. Nice people and always hot men.Disneyland for Bears and Friends!
I love this place! It's one of the few places around where most of the fellas have a smile on their face. That speaks volumes. I've been coming up there from the south bay for a few years, and enjoy the Lone Star experience every time. Some friends of mine from LA have gotten turned on to this bar as well. I find it great to hang any day of the week as they have MNF, South Park, and Thursday's beer bust with occasional pj/boxer bash. On the weekend, the beer busts on a warm sunny day should never be missed! Thanks so my to Gerry and the staff for providing such a gay haven!Grrrrr
Great place to kickback on the weeknight, and an even better place to meet hot bears on the weekend! GrrrrrrrBear Mecca
Mecca for bears, worldwide -- with good reason! A woofy, easy-going crowd, top bartenders, fun eclectic music and a great patio! Don't miss beer busts Sat 3-7 & Sun 4-8.Simply the best
Bear or not, the Lone Bone (er . . .Star) is the best in SF. Great guys, fabulous bartenders (Bobby is the nicest guy around, Louie should be a stand-up comic, and Jimmy is a sweetheart), and wonderful music (how many bars do you know play Donovan's "Sunshine Superman"?). Sunday beer bust (4-8) is a must, but Saturday's beer bust (3-7) ain't bad either. Another "don't miss" is Bobby's Xmas Toys for Tots night. It'll warm your heart to see 240-pound bears bring in Barbie dolls for poor kids. The only bummer is when the rainy season comes and they have to put that damn awning up over the patio.Very Friendly place
Everything is great except the music is getting real old. What happened to the Lone Star?
This once great bear bar has gone way down hill. Maybe it's because there's only one way in and out making it a fire trap and the smell of urine throughout. But the bartenders are still fun if you don't mind being the lone customer, so sad..Worldwide > United States > San Francisco, CA > Bars
