Little Amsterdam
Little Amsterdam is a good place to stop for breakfast or lunch in Saratoga. The atmosphere is nothing fancy, but the food is good. I'd recommend it for breakfast especially. It's conveniently loc...Mediocre at best
This place is full of charm, but that's about it. The food is standard breakfast food with huge prices. It has weird hours, and is only open for a little while each day on the few days it is open at all. The service was slow and a little rude. I was disappointed, because it has so much potential. Go here for the charm, but don't expect to be impressed by the food or service.Food from home!
They make the best Uitsmijters (fried eggs with ham) ever!Put up with it for the food!
The chef/owner and the staff can be a little tempermental. sometimes closing down the restaurant in the middle of the morning rush if they get a little too busy, but don't get discouraged. The simple food of this establishment is well worth putting up with any eccentricities. You won't find any better hash browns in the nation!Terrifically disappointing
On the way to a hike in Sanborn Park in the South Bay, we stopped at Little Amsterdam because it was the busiest place on this stretch of road. Boy, what a disappointment. There are essentially three things on the menu: eggs, pancakes, and waffles. Prices are high and quality is average at best. Portions are small. Service is abysmal: The waitress who served us seemed utterly uninterested in us. I left less than 10% as a tip and regretted leaving that much. Later on, we met some people on the street who asked us if Little Amsterdam was as good as it was reputed to be. I said, "it was awful" and felt pleased that I managed to prevent at least two people from wasting a meal here. (They ultimately went to Los Gatos Cafe which they highly recommended to us.) In all honesty, Denny's is better than this place.Worldwide > United States > Saratoga, CA > Bars
