Excellent Vets but one rude person ruined it!
The checkout lady needs to take a course in customer service. She was rude with me which caused the rating go from 5 stars to 1. She is nice to some but not everyone. I asked her a simple question about my dog's surgery and she got an...Don't Even Consider It!

I have two dogs that I took to this office, both were to be spayed (using a voucher from spay ga) I got exactly what I paid for and the staff was very nice and helpful..One of my dogs had to have FHO surgery and I was very pleased with...NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!
I acquired a certificate for my Lab to be spayed at a low cost. I called Lake City to make an appointment, as they are on the list of providers. I had her shots updated at a facility in Canton (also at a reasonable cost). I guess they may...Lake City Animal Hospital
The Doctors and staff here are caring and professional. Although they have a busy practice, they are considerate to get you in and out as quickly as possible.New Client
I took my precious Maltese Dog to Lake City Animal Hospital. They are great doctors and I would refer them to other people in a heartbeat.Great for dogs...if you're not in a hurry
The folks here really seem concerned about the animals and the vets seem knowledgeable. Be warned, though, this is a very busy practice and you WILL wait with your pet (and all the other animals) in the crowded waiting room. When I've been there, I've usually had the only cat in a room full of dogs (some loose though well behaved). Instead of taking my cat in on his leash, I've had to put him in a cage, which made the whole thing even more stressful for him. I'd be nervous of taking a child there with all the big dogs roaming around. I think they are competent and caring, but definitely dog people! Not that there's anything wrong with that :-)Time Well Wasted
I took my puppy in for a weight and Frontline that was it... I ended up being there for over 30 minutes. I was very disappointed and will never go there again.employment
I went to that place for a job, and both times I've beenVet Care
I am a longtime client of this vet's office. They have saved my pet's lives many times and provided care that I could not put a price on though their prices are very reasonable. Both the vets and staff truly care about what they do. I could not recommend them more highly.Wonderful peace of mind
I'll start by admitting that I am biased, as Dr. Carmichael is related to a good friend. That being said, he is the best vet I have ever used. My husband and I had a vet within walking distance of our home, but he was always brusque and seemed to try to sell too much. When one of my dogs began limping, he told us that she needed knee surgery; she was only a year old at the time. The surgery was over $3000, not to mention the toll it would surely take on my young pup. I wanted a second opinion and took her to Dr. Carmichael. He determined that the other vet was correct in his diagnosis--her kneecap was slipping out of joint (common in older labbies)--but wanted to try a joint supplement versus invasive and expensive surgery on such a young dog. Since starting the supplements, her kneecap has not popped out of the joint once! She's completely normal for her age. I immediately changed vets and now take both my labbies and our cat to Dr. Carmichael. I have to drive quite a bit farther, bNEVER AGAIN!!!!!!
I acquired a certificate for my Lab to be spayed at a low cost. I called Lake City to make an appointment, as they are on the list of providers. I had her shots updated at a facility in Canton (also at a reasonable cost). I guess they may have been offended. I dropped my dog off that morning. The ladies were nice at the front desk. I was informed that there would be a $42 charge for preop blood work which to my knowledge was covered under the certificate. So never mind that. I went to pick up my dog and they told me there would be a heat charge of an additional $41. NO WAY POSSIBLE!! My female dog had been in heat in February which means she isn't due til August. Right? Right!!! I asked to see my dog and they proceeded to pretend to page for her to be brought out to me. Then as I'm waiting to talk to the dr. some ***** pops in to tell me I won't see my dog til I pay my bill. I stated I won't pay my bill til I see my dog. The dr tried with her stare to insist my dog was in heat. TherGreat Vet!!!
I have taken my cat here for three years and I love this vet clinic. The staff is so helpful and always pleasant to be around. The office staff and Vet workers are all very sweet and full of good advice. I always walk out learning something new that is helpful to me!!!very nice, clean, good vet, good customer service
I took my cats there for their checkup and shots. I called and they were so kind to work me in since I was remiss in getting this done before going out of town. The Most Wonderful Vet Hospital Around
Dr. Carmichael and the front office staff at Lake City Animal Hospital are so amazing and attentive. They are always happy to see us, and always concerned with providing the absolute best care for my dog. They stay busy, so you might be put on hold when you call - but they are very helpful over the phone, and quick to see you once you are in the office. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Carmichael and the Lake City staff!Fantastic
I'll start by admitting that I am biased, as Dr. Carmichael is related to a good friend. That being said, he is the best vet I have ever used. I immediately changed vets and now take both my labbies and our cat to Dr. Carmichael. I have to drive quite a bit farther, but it's worth it to know that my animals' best interests drive the practice. In addition to that incident, last summer my other labbie experienced an allergic reaction on a Sunday. When I called the office for a referral to an emergency vet clinic, I discovered that one of the vets in the practice is always "on call" and Dr. Carmichael happened to be the vet that called me back. Not only did he return my call within 5 minutes, but he knew my pet's exact weight from memory and advised me of the proper Benadryl dosage. I was considerably calmer after speaking with him because I was confident that he knew everything about my animal and knew what to do to make him better. Dr. Carmichael is fantastic and truly cares for his patients. I will always take my "babies" to his office. I've read other reviews that the front desk staff is curt or rude; I have never experienced this. They are extremely busy and sometimes the wait can be longer than I would like when I have 2 70+ pound dogs and a miserable kitty in a crate, but they give me a multi-pet discount because "I'm brave enough to bring them in all at once." :) I love this practice!Doom and Gloom vet
I took my 5.5y old Saint Bernard in for an exam because she stopped eating in Sept 2007. They did an exam and basically told me they felt she probably has cancer somewhere inside and needed more tests and without treatment may only have about 6 - 9m to live. Well, I took her home and got her to eat and after a few days she was better. I suspected a pesticide the lawn people used a day or two prior to her sickness. I took her back in Sept 2008 (LOOK SHE SURVIVED ANOTHER YEAR) for a one week boarding and had her UTD on shots. She went in at a healthy 106 lbs and was given back to me at 96 lbs!!!!. When I asked if they noticed her not eating, they said they never got a slip saying she WASN'T eating. She was brought to me unsteady on her legs as I walked her out to the car and home. I brought her back the next day. They noticed her lymph nodes were swollen and called it LYMPHOMA!! What ever happened to calling it an infection first and treating for that before we go to DOOM AND GLOOM DIAGNOSIS. Well, after 2 prescriptions of antibiotics and another week without, her lymph nodes went back to normal size. Would lymphoma just go away???? I still have a very healthy dog - and she even gained and is up to 110 lbs another YEAR later at 7.5years. I would not bring my dog back there. They earn only one star for their friendly staff up front but somedays even that was very questionable.Don't Even Consider It!
We boarded our 6 month old Golden Retriever with the Hwy 41 and Mars Hill location while we were out of town for Thanksgiving and it was a nightmare from the beginning. When my wife dropped off our dog, they did not give her any paperwork or information, which should have been the first warning sign. My wife made it clear that we intended to pick our dog up on Saturday afternoon, which apparently is a time they are not open, but the office staffperson didn't think it was worth mentioning that. We rushed to return to town from visiting family on Saturday to find they were closed and no staff members present. Upon calling their phone number, we were connected to an answering service that could basically just connect us to the Vet-on-call. Wanting to get our dogs back, I asked to be connected to the Vet, Carl White, who works at their Bartow location. He was rude, called me a liar when I stated that we were not informed of the closing time on Saturdays, and then called the police on us for trying to meet up with the staff to see if there was any way to get our dog. They are closed on Sundays, so we had to wait until Monday morning to pick up our dog, which we did. When my wife went in to pick up the dog, she explained the events of this weekend to the office staff member, who was also rude. After paying for the two additional days (in order to get our dog back), my wife had to ask for the dog bed that we sent him with, which the staff member first denied that we had sent him with one and then finally produced a bed that was covered in urine, ripped to shreds, and missing over half of its stuffing. Judging by this, my dog was not walked regularly (because he would not have otherwise peed on his own bed), not monitored regularly (or else they just didn't care that he was ripping the bed apart), and possibly not feed sufficiently (since he presumably ate the polystyrene filling from within the bed). I'm sick to my stomach even thinking about what our dog was subjected to.Great Office
I used this vet because they were on a list for Spay Ga. (a voucher to help with the cost of spaying)..The staff was very nice and caring. Two weeks before the spay I found out that one of my dogs needed FHO surgery, Dr. Carmichael did both at the same time to keep her from being put to sleep twice..The surgery went well on both dogs, the price of the FHO surgery was about $600 less than another vet quoted me..I would use them again.Worldwide > United States > Philadelphia, PA > Veterinarians
