La Fuente's Restaurant is a great family place
Good food for a long time in South Austin with a new and updated atmosphere. A great family place whether or not your family is HispanicBest ranchero sauce I've ever had
From the outside this place looks like a shack. Why are those usually the places with the best food? This place was no exception. I went there for lunch and was recommended to order the cheese enchiladas with ranchero sauce, and they did not disappoint. Best ranchero sauce I have ever tasted - creamier than most, but still tomato-y. The price is right too. Highly recommend!Great little enchilada house
I was told to check this place out when I first moved to Austin. They said someone started serving food in their house and it grew to a point where they had to move out of the house. I understood immediately why. Great food, great service, very reasonable and it feels like you are visiting someone in their home.Excellent Mexican Food
I have been going to La Fuentes for years and it is always consistently good. The food is great, the prices are reasonable, and the service is friendly.Austins best unintentional secret
When people go here they stop going anywhere else. The prices are wonderful and sevice is like your at home. Best Mex food anywhere I ever been. Been eating here since I was little. It has alot of regulars just like me because when people go here they stop going anywhere else. The queso the enchiladas, and fajitas is the BEST I've had anywhere. I cant say that enough and I've been alot of places because I love mexican food. I have to force myself to stop writing this because Iam going to eat there right now.A South Austin Institution!
I really can't say enough good things about this place. Maybe it's because I've been eating here as long as I've been on solid food, but La Fuentes is what Tex-Mex is all about. Kind of tucked out of the way, you feel like you've entered Austin circa 1974, an unchanged relic of the old laid-back South Austin I grew up in. Actually, it's not entirely unchanged, there's a new outdoor seating area with a music stage and a full bar. I haven't seen any live music here yet, but will be back to check it out for sure. Once you have the real deal, any other Tex-Mex just won't cut it.best enchiladas in austin
I have eaten their food many times. Food and staff seem to have changes very little in last 40 years. Bigol' patio with huge trees everywhere all lit up like Christmas. Place turns into an Austin hang when the sun goes down.terrific atmosphere
We meet here for informal lunches, sit outside under the porch or under the giant trees. Totally laid-back, happy place.Worldwide > United States > Austin, TX > Tex-Mex Restaurants
