Best Mexican in the Northwest suburbs
We've been coming here for 35 years, and it has been wonderful all that time. Try the chili rellenos and any steak item. Try to get a table on Saturday night, and you'll know this is a great place, and well worth the wait. And the...La Chicanita Mexican Restaurant
The best Mexican food in Chicago! The food is an excellent blend of flavors with all the sides to go with. The pitchers of margaritas are the real deal, try one and you'll be back. Very unique dining experience with authentic Mexican food.Great Dip and Drinks!
Javier's is fantastic! Every time I go the service has been great whether I was with a party of 2 or 20. I usually measure a Mexican restaurant by their margaritas and queso dip, at Javier's both are delicious! If you're in downtown Arlington Hts, you have to try this place out!Javiers
Best mexican restaurant I have ever been too. Takes a long time to get seated, but it is worth the wait. Enchiladas are the best.Excellent
Went to Javier's for dinner, Excellent, everything, The food was great the Margaritas were the best. The service was great well worth the wait. Best Mexican restaurant in down town Arlington Hts.DELICIOUS!!!
I love this place! The food is absolutely wonderful, chips and salsa are excellent and incredible margaritas! (very important!) Parking is easy, and you are in a cute downtown area with lots to do. I like the atmosphere too. I eat here as often as possible!!Too many added charges and poor value
The quantity of nachos was a disappointment, only to be surpassed by the quality of the entree. Twelve ?individual? taco chips smeared with beans and ground beef and a dollop of sour cream ? twelve chips carefully placed around the edge of the plate - $8.25. Add 1/4 teaspoon of guacamole to each chip and you?ll also add $1.75 ? bringing the far from generous nacho plate to $10.25. Although they were very tasty, a far better platter of nachos can be had at another Arlington Hts. eatery, Boston Blackies. We each ordered the 3 enchilada plate for $8.50. Add $2.75 to get ? cup of rice and ? cup of beans on the plate. The enchiladas completely disappeared under far too much sauce and far too much melted cheese literally turning the meal into a plate of slop. We opted not to take our leftovers, which was most of the meal, home. Just so you know up front, 1 basket of complimentary chips and cup of salsa per table, $3 for additional ? and no refills on soda. Since I like to support local business we'll probably give it one more try. Hopefully I can report back on a better experience.Smells like a dirty mop!
I used to go here while studying at the library, but things have really changed. I took a friend there last month & it smelled awful inside. When you walk in a mexican restaurant, there should be the aroma of delicious food cooking in the kitchen...not like they just mopped the floor with a dirty mop! Apparently, the chips & salsa were sitting on the table for long time before we got there cos the salsa was room temp. All the tables already have the chips & salsa on them, that's not very sanitary! We ordered our drinks & they tasted like virgin strawberry daquiris, not strawberry margaritas made w/tequila. For almost $7, I'd like my drink to at least taste like they put SOME alcohol in it! We ended up leaving after one sip cos we were getting sick from the dirty mop aroma. And what's up with the booths? The seats are so narrow, even my friend's size 2 butt kept slipping forward. And the tables are so low. Maybe they are trying to appeal to a younger crowd with the virgin drinks & kiddie tables. With so many other mexican restaurants in the area, La Chicanita, you guys need to step your game up & get it together!Best Mexican restaurant and customer service
I love La Chicanita and it's the best mexican restaurant in Downtown Arlington Heights. When my family comes in from out of town, they always want to go there. They also have great customer service!BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN ARLINGTON HEIGHTS!!!!
