Dominican Deliciousness
I must admit, La Casa Del Mofongo was my first experience with Dominican food. And so I don't have much to compare it to. So bear that in mind. Nonetheless I was simply delighted with the first meal I had there back in August. The decor and ambience are lovely and perfect for a casual lunch or a nice dinner. The first meal I had there was the mofongo with friend cheese. Oh my, it was amazing. I sort of became obsessed with this place after that meal. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because there was this one time I went there and the mofongo was a little bit dry and hard. I don't know if maybe it was stale or what. But I definitely noticed a difference in the quality of the mofongo on that particular day. However, I still eat there all the time and I would still recommend it to anyone who loves Dominican food or wants to try it out for the first time. Oh yea, there's this amazing special they have where you an entire roasted chicken with rice and beans for $5!! I'm telling you, it's enough food for three meals. The bottom line is, try this place out. You won't be sorry!MALISSIMO parte 2 / WORST PART 2
The worst food ever. Now some of my coworkers ordered pork chops....RAW!!!!!!...My god they could have gotten the Brain parasite....They have some Healthy issues... Boxed Mashed Potatoes. I would prefer Wendy's.Worst service ever
It was my friends birhthday she wanted to eat a mofongo and since we have driven by here before we thought lets try it. We waited nearly 25 minutes before a waiter came to even ask us if we wanted something to drink. We then placed our orders. After my order came out they told my friend that they didnt have the chicharon she ordered if she wanted something different. "It took them an hour and my food to come out to realize that they didn't have chicharon"? She changed her orfer to shrimp mofongo. Although, it came out pretty fast, they charged us for shrimp instead of the chicharon. I mean it could've been done as a courtesy. I then asked to speak to the manager. What a joke he was. He came over non-apologetic and with an attitude. His response after I explained about the bad service was " What do you want me to do"? What the hell!!! It happens to me once but it wont happen to me again. If u want better tasting food and better service go to "the malecon". FYI, its cheaper also. This entire place is a joke. I will never come here again.Good Dominican Food
I have ate here twice and both times the food was good. My 1st time there was on a saturday, i didn't really wait, and i had a delicious mofongo with fried meat. The second time was on a Saturday night, the wait was longer, but the food was still great (rice, beans, and porkchops). My mom does go every once in a while to order food to go which comes out cheaper and it's still good but one time they didn't have light so to make the beans last more it was like they added water to it therefore making it not taste good. I will always prefer my mom's home cooked meal but this place is good to eat when my mom is on vacation or doesn't feel like cooking.Great food but small dance floor!
This restaurant/bar/club is a great way to enjoy with family and friends. The place is quite small but enjoyable. The food is delicious and came out quick. The bar area is very tight quarters and if you want to dance or pass by, good luck with that with nearly 50 -60 people dancing at the same time.Worldwide > United States > New York, NY > Tex-Mex Restaurants
