Unprofessional, poor service, bad highlights
When I arrived at Salon Liv for a cut, highlight and blowdry, the woman at the counter (the owner) was on the phone, said she'd be right with me, motioning me to sit. Minutes ticked by as employees walked by. After 30 minutes of being completely ignored I walked out telling the woman (still on the phone) that she could cancel my appointment. She asked me to stay saying she'd give 50% off. I stayed. The owner gave me the worst highlights I've ever had (some were nearly 1" from my scalp!) then charged a much higher price than was quoted on the phone, effectively canceling out my discount. Her excuse for the wait was FOX news was on the phone doing a story. The only story here is that Salon Liv is an unprofessional salon that cares more about their public image than the service provided to paying customers.

Not all the beauticians are awful!
I was recommended to Patty Docherty (not the owner) from a friend of mine over four years ago. She is the most amazing hairstylist and person for that matter. She takes great care and pride in her work and I would highly recommend her for her services including cuts, highlights and color. The space is beautiful and my experience from the rest of the staff has been great!

O'Neal: Worth every penny!
I am VERY particular about my hair. My family owned their own salon for much of my young life, so when I moved to Chicago, it was very difficult to trust someone new. ONeal was recomended to me by a nail salon that used to be next door to salon liv (on Wells but they have since moved) I immediately loved him when, for the first time, a hair stylist didn't want to cut my long hair. He has a lot of pride in his work, and he would NEVER let you do smething to your hair that he thought was unflattering. no kidding- I have never seen a person leave looking anything but refreshed and amazing.
