Bad Malaysian Food with Poor Ingredients and Poor Morals
I am a very diverse asian and love to support new restaurants so my husband and I gave this a try. We pass by it often at different hours and the parking lot is always barren and now we know why. We ordered to go the rendang beef and was subsititued with pork. Yes, we are positive it was pork. We thought maybe they misunderstood but pork rendang was not even on the menu. We confirmed with the restaurant that there was no pork rendang on their menu. If they ran out of beef, I wish they had told us as we order, rather than lie. The pork rendang had a terrible taste and did not have authentic flavors. We also ordered Hokkian style noodle and realized we were overcharged after reviewing the menu. The noodle was overly done and greasy. We called the restaurant and they denied everything and gave us no apologies. With this sort of moral and poor service, their parking lot will continue to stay barren.nice food! nice service!
Strangely I have entirely different impression about this restaurant from the review below. I had been to this place twice, once was about 9 mths ago, once was about 3 mths ago. The 1st time we had about 8 people. The food left me a very good impression as they cook real South-East Asian food. So the 2nd time totally about 18 people of us (3 malaysians and I'd lived in Singapore for 7 years) went there again (I booked the table in advance). We ordered package for 12 but changed/added some more dishes, they had no problem with it at all. The food was delicious, especially I love their Bak-Kut-Teh, Chicken Rice, Satay, Grilled fish, Samba Prawns, KL style(?) crabs... We just finished all, nothing's left! :)) Afterwards, we paid about 15USD each which was fairly cheap. We had a wonderful night and that happened to be MY National Day too, so cool! :P I plan to try that place again in this week, hope they are still doing good.Authentic Malaysian food in town
This is the the BEST Malaysian restaurant in town. We've just moved here from London and my kids love the roti chanai, $3 for 3 pieces. We used to pay #4.50 for 2 teeny rotis in London and cannot believe the generous portions here. We also love the Wantan Mee, Yong Tau Foo, Chicken Satay and Fried Kangkung. In fact everytime we are here, we will take away food for the next few days as we live in NW Houston. I would give 6 stars, except that there's no category for this.....lol!Overall, food is as authentic as it can be!
When we crave for Malaysian food, this is the restaurant we would go. Overall, food is as authentic as it can be! Some of the the dishes, taste just like home only difference is we do not have to fly half-a-globe home to eat those yummy food. From my experience, ingredients used are always fresh, potion is quite genereous though I feel the size has gone down due to increases of price in everything and food are priced reasonabe. We always enjoy our meal there.Worldwide > United States > Houston, TX > Restaurants
