Avoid if possible part 1.

My son's mother and I were at odds against my son having a circumcision. After visiting with Dr. Kolligan initially he recommended the procedure from a false diagnosis of Phimosis. Although there were many other options that were not attempted to correct the problem of tightened foreskin first this was still the diagnosis he held to. I told Dr. Kolligan that I would like to try less aggressive techniques such as a steroid cream or stretching. After giving in the cream was attempted and worked.
Several months later due to my son's mother not instructing him on proper hygiene the foreskin tightened again. Again I asked for the cream and both the doctor and my son's mother resisted. The second time did not work as the cream was to be applied for several weeks( at least 4), was only applied for two weeks and was not applied while my son was in the care of his mother at all. I had given up at this time and figured although the surgery wasn't medically necessary at the time and definitely not a medical emergency I would go with having the circumcision. I even mentioned to the doctor of a limited dorsal slit with transverse closure. Basically a more conservative procedure used that will keep the foreskin intact. He said they didn't know how to do the procedure. It?s a funny thing, because it costs much less, and is proven to be less traumatic than a circumcision.

awful, awful pediatrician!

Don't ever take your child here! Reisman is condescending, patronizing and downright RUDE. I'd NEVER let him lay a hand on my child.

The 1st time we saw Reisman, he told us that the invasive (and expensive) test that he wanted to do on her was optional and that he just wanted to do it to "cover his bases". I declined the test because it would be too traumatic for my daughter and he had advised us that there was nothing wrong with her anatomically (after 2 ultrasounds).

3 months later:
My daughter and I were led into the patient office and a nurse came in the room, asked me if she was on antibiotics now, I told her that my daughter had finished them on Saturday. She asked me if we'd had the test done yet and I said that all we'd had done was an ultrasound. She asked me again "but have you had the other test done?â€ and I again answered, "no, we just had the ultrasound done and everything looked normal.â€ She started shaking her head back and forth, making notes in the chart and had a rude, disapproving look on her face. She didn't make eye contact with me nor did she say anything else, she just huffed, walked out and shut the door. A few minutes later, I heard a knock and in came the doctor. My daughter was sitting on the exam table and I was in the chair adjacent to the door. When the doctor came in, I could tell her was agitated right away from him body language. Then he asked My daughter how she was and she started going on about her Ariel birthday. He brushed her off while leaning (with one butt cheek) against the countertop, turning toward me. He then looked up at me and asked me if she had an infection. I said that she did and that she completed a 10-day antibiotic. Then he asked me if I had brought her in for the catheter. I said no and that I had been talking to my family about it and we all thought that it wasn't necessary since you said it was optional. He interrupted me and said very condescendingly "so what should we do now?â€ as he slammed the chart down on the counter. I could tell he was angry so I didn't say anything. Then he said in an extremely angry, loud tone "I am VERY frustrated with you, you don't follow directions, you don't follow through and ... he was screaming very loudly that I instinctively stood up out of my chair in between him and My daughter and stood about 2 feet from him and cut him off mid-scream and said "I didn't come in here to be screamed at and ridiculed, I came here to get help for my daughter and if you don't want to help her, I'll go somewhere else. I've been messing with this for a whole year.â€ My daughter started crying. Then he said "well, it's in my culture to yell like thisâ€ I said "that's BSâ€ and went to grab My daughter. He stormed out of the room. I picked up My daughter and walked out of the room. As soon as I got to the doorway, I could see he was at the nurse's station down the hall. So I yelled down the hall as I was walking toward him (and the exit) "it's a good thing you have the child's best interest in mind. I can't believe you make people put up with this. You are a terrible doctor.â€ I was still carrying My daughter as I walked by him and that's when he looked at My daughter (who was crying even louder) and said really rude, sarcastically, and mean "do you want a sticker? How about 2? How about the whole roll?â€ I said "heck no we don't want your stickerâ€ and stormed out. When I got to the front desk, I told the receptionist "don't you dare charge me that co-pay, I didn't even see himâ€ "he has NO business being a pediatrician. He was screaming at meâ€. Then we walked out of the building. My daughter was still crying but now she was crying for a sticker.

He DID end up charging my credit card the co-pay.

BEST UROLOGIST

WELL HE IS MY UROLOGIST AND HE GAVE ME MEDICATION AND I DONT HAVE ACCIDENTS ANYMORE. YOU ARE A PARENT IM A CHILD.... IT MADE MY LIFE DIFFERENT. I DONT GET MADE FUN OF. NO OFFENSE BUT MADMOMMY2 ASK IF YOUR CHILD WANTS WHAT EVER IT IS YOU ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT. HE MIGHT HAVE HAD AN ATTITUDE.. MAYBE CAUSE HE HAD A BAD DAY. DONT BE SO JUDGEMENTAL!!!!!!!!!!! HE HAS CHANGED MY LIFE I USED TO BE MADE FUN OF ALOT BECAUSE I HAVE ACCIDENTS ALOT. SO DONT COMPLAIN HE HAS CHANGED MANY OTHER PEOPLES LIVES SO GIVE HIM A DAMN BREAK. IM SORRY FOR PROFANITY BUT HE CHANGED MY LIFE.

Excellent Surgical Skills

Dr. Reisman repaired my 9 week old son's bilateral inguinal hernia. Here are a few observations regarding my interaction with Dr. Reisman and Children's Urology Group. We were referred to Dr. Reisman and this group by our pediatrician, who had a family member that had been a patient.

Initial Consult: Dr. Reisman immediately knew that my son had a hernia and quickly explained why it was important for him to get his hernia repaired as soon as possible. The risks associated with surgery were far less that the risk of complications resulting from the large hernia. Dr. Reisman was confident and direct with his recommendation and very thorough in his explanation of the procedure and the risks involved. I appreciate it when medical professionals are candid and confident in their recommendations. I am not a doctor, but when I see one I want them to clearly state what is best for me or my child. I appreciated his direct approach.

The surgery: The first time we went in for surgery my son had a severe reaction to the anesthesia and the procedure was delayed. After consulting a cardiologist and the anesthesiologist, the surgery was rescheduled. Dr. Reisman was able to repair both sides in less than 30 minutes. Additionally, every medical professional that we spoke to during the surgery preparation confided that Dr. Reisman and the Children's Urology Group were the most skilled surgeons in the area.

If you like a direct and confident surgeon with 35 years of experience that comes highly recommended by his piers, then you will be very happy with this doctor.

DR REISMANN IS NO GOOD.... DOESNT EVEN DESERVE A STAR

I RATE DR REISMAN THE LOWEST RATING EVER,
HE IS RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, ARROGANT AND CARES ONLY ABOUT HIMSELF.

WE HAD A SURGERY SCHEDULED, THEY WANT TO EXTEND THE TIME FOR ANOTHER 3 HOURS. MY 6MONTH OLD HADNT EATEN FOR OVER 12 HOURS COS THEIR NURSE SAID SO. MY BABY WAS HUNGRY, OK, I WILL RESHCEDULE, THE DOCTOR COMES OUT OF THE SURGERY ROOM, ANGRY THAT I DECIDED TO RESCHEDULE THE SURGERY. ASKING WHY WE THINK WE CAN WASTE HIS TIME, WHAT? WHAT ABOUT MY TIME

HIS EXACT WORDS, "I WILL NEVER DO THIS SURGERY, GO FIND ANOTHER SURGEON, ANYWHERE, I DONT CARE," I TRIED TO SAY SOMETHING, HE REPLIED, SHH...HUSH, I'M NOT DONE TALKING, DONT SAY ANYTHING, YOU CANNOT COME HERE AND WASTE MY TIME......." HE EXPECTS ME TO WAIT AN EXTRA 3 HOURS AND HE HIS ANGRY I HAD TO RESCHEDULE, WHAT A JOKE!

wHAT A HORRIBLE MAN. AFTER READING OTHER REVIEWS, I AM THANKFUL WE DONT HAVE TO GO BACK TO HIM....THAT MAN WILL NOT TOUCH MY BABY!!!

Worst display of customer service skill...Ever!!

I would never recommend any one to go through what I and my family went through at the hands of Dr Reisman. This Doctor is rude to say the least. My son had extra fore skin after his circumcision, so we decided to remove it.

His pediatrician recommended Dr Reisman, so we schedule an appointment for a consult. After the first consult, he recommended surgery to remove the extra skin. First of all, we scheduled a date but were told that they don't have a time yet so they will call us 24 hours before the surgery to let us know the time.

The nurse called and scheduled the time for the next morning. She said not to feed my son after 9pm and no fluid even water two hours to the surgery. We arrived at the Hospital on time. After filling out the paper work, we were asked to wait. About an hour and some after waiting I asked when we will be seen, and the nurse stated it was going to be another hour before we are called in. At this time, my son had not eaten for about 13 hours and was expected to wait another 2 hours before eating.

As an adult I can't wait that long, talk less of a 10 month old baby. I told the nurse, we can't wait and need to feed my boy, and will reschedule for another day, for a earlier time. When Dr Reisman heard this, he came out to the lobby and requested why we were leaving, we explained to him the situation. Then he went off saying he was not happy we wasted his time, and in his own words said this was not a "Wal-Mart". He said, that he can't be our child's Dr, so we have to call a different Dr, because he can't do the surgery any more. While trying to explain my thoughts about this he said "We are done talking" and stormed out.

This is an unacceptable behavior from any doctor, even if you were the last person on earth. I would not recommend any parent to go through this, even my enemy. That's my experience, now it's your choice if you still want to use Dr Reisman as your doctor.
