Good Folks, Good Food
The owners of this restaurant really go out of their way to support the community. Why buy ice cream from a huge chain when you can get it (and a good sandwich) from a locally-owned business that really is a part of the community?

Cute
Locally owned and operated, this place has been under previous ownership until a few years back. Personally, I think it is a little pricey but that's understandable since it is a local business. It's always a good place to go with family and even friends.

good ice cream, average food
This place has been around forever, but they kind of redid it a couple years ago. They have good ice cream and many sundaes to choose from. They also serve food and have some games for entertainment.

Love the Ice Cream
The menu here is really good. Even though they are known for their ice cream, I always go for the hot food menu. I love their french dip the best. As far as ice cream goes, you can't go wrong with anything you pick. The service here is always good too. They are good at sitting big parties.

This place is jumping with fun!! Very family oriented! It has a lot of desireable sweets to choose from and the food is okay. The servers there are very friendly and the prices are reasonable for a family of 4 to enjoy!!

Knudsen's Has REALLY GOOD Ice Cream!!!
They do have excellent burgers here, but I love Knudsen's ice cream...the chocolate peanut butter, to be exact. It's so creamy and not overly sweet like CSC. :)

Knudsen's is The Heart of Castro Valley!
My family and I love to take an afternoon walk and always end up at Knudsen's Ice Creamery. This locally family owned restaurant is the heart of Castro Valley! Kids are very much welcomed and encouraged here. The food is just plain Good American food, defiantly comfort food. My wife loves the Sweet Potato Fries with melted marshmallow fluff, something you can't find anywhere else! I love that I can get a good hot dog or chili dog at a sit-down restaurant. The kid's portions are enough to fill them up and take a little home for later. We visit Knudsen's almost every week. The price is right, the staff is attentive and the true test of any restaurant is the bathrooms are always clean.Worldwide > United States > Castro Valley, CA > Desserts
