cool hangout and great Halloween Party!
What a BRILLIANT party! I did get there on the later side, but the music was awesome, everyone hanging and dancing around, "Brittany" had won 1st prize and was doing her "dance". Can't wait for their New Year's Eve Party again this year. This place is a blast and a much needed FUN place compared to anything else around. I highly recommend this place for the bar scene - good looking guys-atmosphere-drinks.Great neighborhood joint
moved here over a year ago and KitchenBar is my favorite hangout for really great food at an artists' budget! ambiance is hip and lo-key, their happy hour is oh so helpful on my budget, $2 best sangrias around! can't wait for their other place, Public House to open. i hear pitcher's of beer and satellite tv's which means sports! i will never move and will always be a loyal patron. thanks KitchenBar!I wasn't thrilled, I'm not going back, and I would not recommend.
The staff was friendly and the place was nice, with good lighting and interesting tables covered by old album covers. The drinks were good and the deserts were good. The calamari appetizer was a little too breaded and rubbery. The hummus was okay. The potstickers were very good. My wife ordered the shortrib and shared it with her mom but after one taste they stopped eating. I had the parmesian fried chicken with mashed potatoe. It was okay but sort of bland and nothing to write home about. I enjoyed my flan for desert, my friend ordered the chocolate mousse and my wife had the creme brule (sorry for the spelling). Everyone enjoyed these deserts. I would not call the experience a disaster but I know that I would not recommend the place and I will not be going back. The total for 3 dishes, 4 appetizers, 4 mixed drinks, was $172.00 not counting tips.I have been to all sorts of restaurants in Brooklyn and Manhattan and I have lived here for the entire 40 years of my life and I can honestly say you can do better than this place and for not much more money.had the best time
some of my friends and i read about KitchenBar iinthe South Slope (6th ave/20th st) in the NY POST for Hidden Brooklyn.a neighborhood place
What a jewel this place is. This area has been waiting a long time for something like KitchenBar. I highly recommend their food - i am one of those who always gets food envy and must taste everyone else's! The staff are helpful and friendly and their wine selections are perfect for such an eclectic establishment. A really wonderful neighborhood eatery that does not want to overcharge.Great Value, Child Friendly, Friendly Service Staff - A Great Neighborhood Restaurant
With improvements in food quality and taste, this small but friendly food joint has a great future in the south part of the Park Slope area. Friendly service and children friendly makes this restaurant a great place to grab a bite for busy Park Slope parents. Highly recommended. Try their mixed drinks. They are awesome!kitchen away from kitchen!
had dinner there wednesday and have to say ~ what a really really fine place! friendly, food was fresh and simple with wonderful flavors-nothing crazy or extravagant and REASONABLE for the the p.s. area compared to some other places around. wine list also was great - indian sauvignon blanc; who woul've known! great find...trying brunch out this weekend.Great, Casual but Cozy Environment & Delicious, Inexpensive Food!
I have been to the Kitchen Bar several times, and have never had a bad experience there. Their food is great (they have seasonal menus with really inventive, but not pretentious, meals), they have pretty good drinks (I had a "hot and dirty martini," which I essentially got for the name, but actually really liked it), and the service is great. The waitresses are very low-key, personable women, and always chat and joke with my husband and I whenever we eat there. We ate brunch there this Saturday, and I had an amazing salad and a fantastic breakfast burrito (the bloody mary wasn't stellar, but it was forgivable!). This place is great, I can't wait to try the barbecue place next door.Perfect Spot for Future Gay Hangout, just no Skyline Sunset...
OK, so yea, went to Kitchen Bar for Brunch on Sunday. Excellent food, HORRIBLE service, and they overcharged us. Horrible service means: we had to ask if anyone would wait on us, and instead of sending over a server, the hostess just decided that she would take our order, which proved to be the wrong idea, because it meant we basically had no server. They were busy and had a packed house, and our bad experience could have had something to do with that... We asked to get the check, didn't get it, and I finally had to literally wave my credit card at the hostess (she was trying to seat people at our table, while we were still there...which was strange...), so I never got a receipt, and just gave her my card (since this process took so long that my friend had already left!), and realized on my walk home that they totally overcharged us- nearly double, actually.Worldwide > United States > Brooklyn, NY > American Restaurants
