I went in there this past weekend to get my nails did. Every girl wants to get their pretty-on every once and a while. I figured this spot is close to my house and it's not some hyped up place like Happy Nails, so they wont charge me an arm and leg and maybe a couple of strands of hair to get my nails done. I walk in and it's literally this tiny thin long hallway. They only have room to line one wall with their manicure tables and have the other side as walking room. there are no spa chairs. they do it oldschool here. put water in a pedicure bucket and soak your feet in that... so I came in to get a pedicure and a gel-fill. I called ahead to see if they even do gel, and the woman said they did. Sunday - So i walk in and confirm again if they do gel, and i get a yes again. So i sit down and she takes off my nail polish and gets my nails ready. She whips out the pink acrylic powder. that's when i was like "whoa whoa, this is ALL gel." and suddenly i felt like she didn't know what she was doing. as if they DON'T do gel there. i feel like they may have confused me of asking if they do the gel coating after they do acrylic nails. well, what was i supposed to do? i stayed and let her give the gel thing a try. my pedicure, although not a lavish spa pedi, it was perfection. I don't see how people want to sit in a spa chair for almost two hours to get exfoliated and paraffin waxed. man, i got things to do - i don't have time for someone else to do shiet that i can clearly do at home. so i can appreciate their oldschool style. i have NO PROBLEM with that. make my nails look pretty and let me be on my way. so in the end everything looked fine. $44 for a french tip pedi w/ flower design and a gel fill w/ flower design. I was estatic about the price. I've gotten cheaper deals but i figured I'd wait and see how good a deal this one would be. the next day though? my pedicure was still perfection but my gel nails were cracked all over the place. Monday - I go back in and have the same woman fix it. To me - if you do the same exact thing, you'll get the same results. Yup, she took of the nail polish and did the same exact thing. Tuesday - new cracks. Wednesday - go in the get the cracks fixed AGAIN. and AGAIN she does the same thing. and i'm more than positive that i'll get the same results. more cracks. Thursday - MORE CRACKS. never going back there ever again. good pedicures. gel-fill - bad product. not a good deal after all. some people may say "you get what you paid for" but i've gotten way cheaper pedi and fills for a way better result. so when it comes to getting my nails did, "you get what you paid for" isn't always true. in this case, i paid to much for what i got. i went back today to get a refund. Please read my previous review to catch up. I didn't want to have to pay for a product that clearly didn't work the first THREE times. I came back and gave this place three times to fix it. Only to leave the problem unresolved. The FOURTH time I came back was to get a refund. I spoke to Kim herself. She and I went back and forth about a refund. She wanted to run around the bush about it instead of saying "No, we do not give refunds". She pretty much stated that the botched nail job that her co-worker did on my nails was MY fault. Bitch please... i don't know shit about doing nails, that's why I get them done. BUT I do know that this has never happened to me in all my adventures into Fakenaildom. Pretty much she said that the gel fill was too thin and that's why it was cracking. But it's because my nails were thin naturally, so that's my fault. Um, really? Your job is to do nails, thin or thick, yall should know what you're doing. That shit isn't my fault because YOU don't know how to do your job. Finally I was like "So you don't do refunds?" Kim - "No. We have many clients and have never had this happen before..." Me - "You just did. You just had it happen." then i walked out. NEVER AGAIN KIM. NEVER AGAIN.
