FUN FUN FUN
I HAD AN AWESOME TIME AT THIS CLUB. WE ACTUALLY GOT IN FREE AND AVOIDED LONG LINES. DRINKS WERE FREE UNTIL MIDNIGHT. THE MUSIC WAS great, it was a mix of hip hop, r&b, and some alternative. We danced all night. The owner even came over and gave us VIP cards. I was recommend for everyone to check this club out at least once.

Be for-warned
First , they say is free until midnight, but you have to get in line by 10p.m. to make it in by midnight. Also, they don't tell you there is a signup you need to do at their website to get in free all night...but you need a print out otherwise, $20.

Get in free -- yeah right!!!!!!!!!
I have been to the Velvet Room about 3 or 4 times. I usually get the printout & just pay $20, this time we were like lets just get there early & find a cool chill spot. We got there aroung 9:45. I always noticed that whenI would get there arnd 10:30 or so, the line would always be jammed, making the club just look bananas. Now I know why. No matter what time u get in the FREE line , they dont start letting people in until AFTER 11. yea, we were in line for like almost 2 hours. I was not happy about that. So, just avoid the FREE line, unless its on a Sunday. I have met some cuties there and the music is slammin. FYI -- the bar near the ladies room has lower prices than the bars that are on the upper level. I guess the bartender up there pre includes her tips in the drink price.

It was hyped
I went to the velvet room on sunday, january 25. Im from florida, and i was only in town for that night and wanted something to do. When i drove to the club, I can see the line from the main street. Right then i was ready to turn around and drive off, but my boyfriend convinced me to go. So we got into the parking lot(by the way which is in a shopping plaza with a big lots) and the parking lot security lets us know where to park. we ended up parking in the back of the plaza. so we got out in 43 degree weather and walk to the front of the plaza where we have to enter the club (keep in mind im furious by now). so i reached to line and came to find out that it was actually moving. so i was in line for about 10 mins and it was a little at 1:30am. the club was advertising free b4 midnight ,but i still managed to get in free. Maybe the ed hardy i had on was hot!! idk. now im inside and the decor is nice,the drinks were not over priced, and it was way crowded,(but exciting and fun). Very huge place, crowd was hyped and the camera man even came over to get a couple of pictures. so i was relived when i got inside. when i left, the parking security wanted a tip. he hinted by saying,"It's guaranteed that your car is safe from theft, scratches, or anything else, tips are always welcome." me and my boyfriend bust out laughing and gave him a tip.

security is tight in the parking lot
Okay me an my girl were leaveing the club looking for my car yeah i was tipsy so i pressed my panic button to hear the alarm so i can find my car. as i make it to my car i see security with light looking at an my car making sure knowone was breaking in i smiled an told him thanks i tried to tip him he said no thanks "I love my job thats what they pay me for" drive safely. I had a great time . GUYS LEAVE YOUR GIRL AT HOME U DONT BRING WATER TO A POND

Nowhere to sit!!!!!
Unless you plan on spending $200 and up for a VIP section, there is not one sit in the entire joint! I had went on old school night, therefore this means that you are going to have some "old heads" in the house. I certainly did not expect to wait in line for 1 hour and buy watered down drinks only to stand in my 4 inch heels all night. I was highly disappointed. Then you have to pay an attendant in the bathroom for tissue and paper towels when you used the bathroom!! I had a flash back of being in Tijuana Mexico when I encountered this. I don't think I will be going back.

Good and bad
Velvet room is a really nice club if you can get in! They advertise free admission til a certain time usually 12am. Well what they dont tell you is that they hold the line and dont start letting people in until 11pm. When they do let people in its only one person at a time. It ridiculous but thats how they make their money. They have a cut line thats $20 cause they know most people would rather pay instead of standing in line for hours. Again, if you can get in this is a really nice club but dont expect to get in free ladies! Come prepared to pay at least $20 if you get there early! Have a good time and shake a tail feather!!!

So over rude Bouncers!!!
I am tired of the monopoly AG Ent has on the club scene. The people they hire are rude at best. Whether you are VIP or other they treat you the same as if they don't need your money. They talk to you as if they are doing you a favour to let you into their club and when you get inside it is a bunch of women and sub par men. The venue is okay but there is no where to sit unless you spend 1000+ for a booth and it is just a large room with VIP looking down on you. I must say I will NEVER go there again!!!

DON'T DO IT!!! DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE
While I have been privileged to party from Europe to the Caribbean, it kills me how Alex Gidewon (probably here illegally) and his ignorant goons call themselves a distinguished venue of Atlanta. Any establishment owned by this monster is NOT SAFE for women. Trust me, the incidents of date rape, women being drugged and disrespected by the Velvet Room, Compound and Pure (now closed) staff is unbelievable.

LET ME START OFF IN CAPITAL LETTER!! I ARRIVE AT THE VELVET ROOM NICE AND EARLY, IT WAS LADIES FREE BEFORE 11PM. I GOT THERE AT 10PM, I WAS THE 20-21ST PERSON IN LINE.TO MY SURPRISE AT 1PM I WAS IN THE SAME LINE! YES I COULD HAVE GOTTEN OUT OF LINE AND PAID $20! BUT WHY IT WAS FREE BEFORE 11PM.
