PHENOMENAL SUSHI!!
IF you're looking for incredible sushi at a decent price this is THE PLACE! The owner/sushi chef- OZZIE is a sushi master and my friends and I have followed him from his past restaurant! the rolls are huge, original, and INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS!!!!! Ozzie is great-friendly attentive and amazing--I have stopped ordering and let him surprise me and I have yet to be dissappointed. Love this Place!!

Needs Work
I was surprised to see how small the interior of this restaurante really was. The down stairs area (consisting of 2 tables and the sushi bar) looked as if it was still under construction. The missing ceiling tiles detracted away from the the classic japanese atmosphere. The waiter/host was rushed and kept things brief as it seemed the restaurant was under staffed. After looking over their simplistic and unispired sushi menu I decided to opt out (almost to the point of leaving). I ordered a bento box instead. The food for the most part was good, although how hard is it to mess up chicken teriaki, salad and a california roll. The tempura vegetables tasted more of grease instead of properly fried tempura. I was first surprised by the amount they charged for the bento box until it was served; there was enough food in one bento box to feed 2 people.

Great sushi, great atmosphere, great service, great price!
I finally made it to Japonica and I have to say I wish I started goign here earlier. This small cozy place has a warm and contemporary atmosphere. BYOB is great and there is no cork fee. The service was fast and polite. The food was awesome and very affordable. Be carefuly when ording spicey sushi here as mine was very spicey. Although it could have just been the sauce that day. I would highly recommend this place and I'll be back frequently.

Try the Mexican 5-piece roll
We are really lucky to have Japonica as our neighborhood sushi place. We always feel welcome and BYOB on the patio is a great way to relax on a summer Friday night. Try the delicious Mexican 5-piece roll with cilantro and just the right amount of jalapeno. Also, for those watching carbs, the trio of hand rolls wrapped in radish is very tasty.

One of the Best Sushi Restaurants in town!!!
The sushi is very fresh, the prices are very reasonable and the service is great. We have sushi at least once a week and each time we go, we never have a complaint.
