Average Experience

I visited Dr. Kim Lucas looking for a new primary care physician. Her office is nice and new; although I was put off by the Botox poster and case of face creams in the lobby. The records are automated, so someone puts all your information into a computer after asking you questions. I felt a little akward about that. The doctor saw me quickly and seemed to listen. Overall, I think she was very knowledgeable. My only complaint is that she mentioned giving me a prescription and I left without it. Of course, any doctor can get confused. It was just a little annoying. I may give Dr. Lucas another chance, but I wasn't overly impressed.

PROS: Nice Office, Knowledgeable Doctor
CONS: Advertising and Products for Sale

Seems to know a lot

I felt like my experience went well with Dr. Lucas. She seems to be friendly, compassionate, and helpful. She addressed all of my concerns. The office is nice, but definitely advertises. I wasn't really turned-off by that, but it is noticeable.

Rude Office Staff

I was horrified at the poor and rude treatment I received from Dr. Kim Lucas office staff. It started during my first call to locate her office. The staff was rude and unfriendly. She would not even provide me with a cross street or a closest identifying building but only “we are of 202.” This should have been my hint that this is not the doctor for me. But because my GYN, whom I have known for over 8 years, recommended this office, I felt I should check it out. I finally found the office and presented myself to the front desk. After ignoring me for about 40 secs the staff grudgingly acknowledged me. I explained my GYN recommended Dr. Lucas and I would like an appointment. She scheduled the appointment for next week. She gave not a single pleasantry, hello or smile. I felt uncomfortable and an intruder

To start a conversation, I asked whether Dr. Lucas is Board Certified, I was told indignantly the doctor is a PCP and not required to be board certified. This of

A Great Doctor

I moved to Arizona from California a few months ago, leaving behind a doctor that I LOVED. Through an internet search I found Dr. Lucas and have been totally pleased with the care I have received from her. She really takes the time to listen to all your concerns, and is very knowledgeable about the medical field, in particular diabetes, and has really been working with me to get my condition under control. She encourages but doesn't lecture, and I feel that I am in very good hands with Dr. Lucas. I have had only pleasant dealings with the staff as well.

Be careful....

I was being attended to by Dr. Lucas regarding a neck injury and over the course of three months I experienced repeated misdiagnosis and requests that I submit to treatments that would have furthered the exacerbation. Went to a specialist at her request and was treated for fibromyalgea which was nowhere near the issue at hand, and taken off of pain meds which did help some. Finally after being fed up with this I got a second opinion based on the MRI that I had been given which according to a second doctor, there was a misalignment of the spine between the C6-C7 region narrowing a nerve exit point and a bone spur contacting my spinal column. According to this doctor it should have been quite evident with an examination of the actual pictures that this was the case though the written report suggested these were minor. One visit to a chiropractor and problem resolved after missing more than a month of work.
