Dealing with these people has been the single worst professional relationship I have ever experienced. The house I rented from them did not have adequate heating and all winter the inside of the house was about 4 degrees warmer than outside. The person they sent out to look at the furnace/vents said the vent system was designed badly and there was nothing he could do. Twice the garage door broke and I had to continually call to get them to fix it. I had to go to work after two days and it cost me $63 for a cab since I couldn't get my car out of the garage; they acted like they didn't understand why I was upset about that. The toilet leaked on the bathroom carpet, so I called the emergency line a couple of times and no one EVER responded, so I turned off the water supply to the upstairs bathroom. They didn't fix the upstaris toilet for several months, and I finally talked the plumber who came out to set up the evaporative a/c for the summer into looking at the toilet and fixing it. They require 30 days notice to move, and I gave them 60 days notice since I knew that far ahead I was moving; I notified them in writing exactly the date I was moving out. Although they could not ever seem to get around to fixing anything, there was a certified letter in my mailbox one day later advising me what I would owe when I moved. Then when I paid the rent for the last month, they called and asked, "Are you staying another month?" I told them that I had given them my move-out date, and when I pointed out that I gave them 60 days notice to be polite, they acted like I had done something wrong by not waiting until 30 days beforehand to notifying them I was leaving. There was dead grass in the front yard, all sorts of weeds, and the back yard had trash in it when I moved in during the winter. I cleaned up all of that, then I received a letter from them saying the HOA had filed a complaint about the dead grass and I would have to pay a fine. I told them the grass was dead when I moved in and the yard looked much better now; also I said I would be happy to plant grass seed if they paid for it. They never took me up on that. I had someone come trim bushes that had been scratching the windows when I moved in, and I paid for a dead tree to be removed ($125) that was in the front yard (again dead when I moved in). I asked Anna if we could meet a few days before I move out to go over the house and discuss how much of the deposit she will return. She would not agree to meet me. Out of my $985 deposit, I received back $169. My advice - don't do business with these people - it is an enormously frustrating and stressful experience.
