Old fashion burgers
This is an old fashion burger joint. Think back to when you were a kid...greasy burgers, fries and awesome milkshakes! It's a tiny little restaurant.Always Fun
I love this place - old fashioned burgers, shakes, and even tater tots. The only thing you need to plan for is that they only accept cash and the location is small.Great menu!
I think Humdinger Hamburgers is the best place in town to get an old-fashioned, juicy burger. The service is fast and friendly, and the menu is extensive. Check out all of their milkshake flavors! But here's the reason I go back: the tastiest burgers!best in town for burgers
Ridiculously good burgers, some too big to eat. The shakes are beyond belief, and you can even get chunky peanut butter in them. Not much room inside, but plenty of outdoor seating.Outstanding Onion Rings
Great hamburgers. Lots of selection. Daily specials. Multiple flavors of milkshakes. All overshadowed by the fantastic onion rings (available daily until the batter is gone).Portland's #1 Burger
This is the best burger in Portland. Great shakes (particularly pumpkin) and crinkle-cut fries with a huge menu. Great value with a traditional burger-joint feel. Give it a try, but seating is limited and it is crowded during peak hours--which won't suprise anyone who's tried the food.zhousu
I went here last week, on a recommendation. I found it very small, say seating for about 10 or 12.Best Hamburgers in Portland Area Hands Down!
It's just a small place located on Sandy Blvd. don't blink or you might miss the best hamburger you have ever experienced. I ordered their HUGE burger with ham, egg, bacon, although I forgot the name of it, it was the best burger I have ever had the pleasure of meeting & then eating. I also ordered a large milkshake for like $3.00, but what I got was a freak of nature; it was 44 ouces of shake!!! And boy was it good too, but don't take my word for it... go check it out for yourself.Best Burgers & Milkshakes Ever!
Humdinger never seems to let down no matter what you order. The hamburgers are simply amazing, made with 100% real beef and topped with just about anything you can imagine going onto a burger. The classic double is 1/2lb of beef with bacon and the usual toppings and is truely fantastic. Humdinger also serves up delicious diner style sandwiches including a classic reuben, philly cheese steak, french dip and BLT, to name a few. The onion rings are delicious and the chili cheese fries not to be missed. I've been told the fish-n-chips are supurb. Furthermore, you can't get a better milkshake anywhere else on earth... there is enough variety that you could go a month without ever ordering the same thing. If your in the mood for a great shake or an amazing burger skip McMenamins, Burgerville or anywhere else and make a dash for Humdinger... you won't be disapointed.Eat at the Dinger
I go to school at Wilson High School, located only a few minutes away. I recently discovered this hamburgery and have fallen in love with it. To begin, the milkshakes are perfect. If you don't see a flavor you like, ask them to mix you up one, a unique one i've tried is a peanut butter banana marshmallow shake which was pretty much amazing. Moving on to the burgers at this small, easily overlooked restaurant I am once again constantly surprised with how amazing the food is. Whether you feel like a small burger (it's actually a menu item) or a Hunger Halter (it really works), there is something for every size of appetite. I even believe that the garden burgers are pretty good, though they are one of the only vegetarian options available. Whether it's a massive milkshake or a 1/2 lb burger, the 'Dinger', as my friends and I have dubbed it, never dissapoints. The thing that really sets the Dinger apart from any other hamburger restuarant i've ever been to is the atmosphere. There are few restuarants in Portland that challenge you to drink a 1 pound milkshake in a minute This and many other hilarious entertainment possibilities make eating in at the Dinger a must.I like the ambiance, but low quality ingredients.
If only they used ground chuck, real oreos, and quality peanut butter. Go to Knobb Hill for your burgers, and DQ for a Blizzard - much better!better food at McDonalds
been eating at this little dive for about 13 years.Excellent Food
I live in Salem and come to Portland for Humdinger's Delicious Food. Their Burgers, Fries, Shakes, are just sooooo Good. The owner is very nice, he served me, Fiance, and my children are food. The portion is is very generous. My sons are 15 and 16 years old. They could not even finish their meal. If you want excellent food that is just like the old days, Then this is the perfect place to go with friends and family. I highly recommend Humdinger to all. Juanita in Salem, OR!way to expensive and dude not cool
So I called in a basic cheeseburger and small shake. Get there and dude says, "14.99." I ask him how much is the shake and he says agitated, "6 bux." I ask him for a receipt and dude tells me hes out of paper. I tell him I dont care who you are or where I am I've never had a 15 dolla burg/shake from a roadside joint. He looks at me like "Im the jerk." Words follow and I walk, needless to say he gave me a horrible experience, engaged me pathetically and showed me no value so strike three- You're out not me!I have no idea what these guys are complaining about!!!
If you are looking for health food look elsewhere. This place is amazing though... Whatever you get make sure you order it with bacon. Nice friendly people and cool small town feel. I have no idea what the other two guys are complaining about because this place friggin rocks the house! thanks guys and I'll see you soon! Why complain?
Why complain about them if you have been going your whole life? What was the surprise? This place rocks and I tell everybody about it.Great simple burger place
I used to go here a lot in high school and it's a great teenagers' burger shack. More expensive than mcdonalds but way better. The cook (owner?) is a little in your face but it's a burger shack on Barbar, not a fancy resturant. He even likes to changle people to eat things like 6 saltines in a minute and bets $20 on whether you can or can't.Average and premade frozen meat.
I have lived in the area for 44 years and remember coming here after football practice for shakes. Very good shakes still but heavy hitter on the wallet. But it is a burger joint so....Had lunch here today. Deluxe meal special. 7 bucks for burger and fries. No drink. I am not going to say it sucked but certainly not special by any counts. Premade frozen patty for sure. Not a whole lot of difference from Costco. VERY ordinary. Fries were plentiful and crispy. Thought my heart was going to seize up due to the large quantities of salt. OMG. Threw them away after eating about four. For seven dollars I expect and handmade patty from quality ground beef. And for goodness sakes, I can always put more salt on something. But harder than heck to take off. Trust me I tried wiping them with a napkin. Only ate 2/3rds of the burger. As I was ordering the cashier had to kill a couple of ants that were cruising across the counter. Want a killer burger for the same price? Go to Canyon Grill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Worldwide > United States > Portland, OR > Fast Food Restaurants
