Took my mother's dog to get groomed when she was away. Hug-a-pup did a fast and terrific job on him. The dog can be a little aggressive at times but it was not an issue for them.

Most Traumatic Experience For My Dog EVER! DO NOT GO HERE!!
I took my 5 year old Yorkie to Hug-A-Pup and have never been more mortified in my life. The groomer Linda muzzled my dog and he was bathed with a muzzle on. My dog is not a vicious dog, just has an eye problem and can not see well. This woman shaved him down so low that when I took him home he bled, and was in such discomfort that he would have to sit on the grass to cool off. He could not be touched for a week because he'd cry and he was so irritated and scratched up that he was eventually taken to the vet. He was traumatized from both Linda and the way the shop handled him and was not even groomed he was attacked with a razor while being muzzled. Please do what is best for your dog and go elsewhere. The shop is filthy, the women smoke inside the shop and there are food and drinks kept all over including on the grooming stations. This was an awful experience that I don't want anyone to relive.

Excellent Experiance
Elizabeth, I have been getting my dogs and cats groomed by Linda since 1980, when they were at there orginal location on Broadway and followed her to Massapequa Park. I have never had an issue with her or the staff at Hug-A-Pup. I have recommended everyone of my family and friends to go there. Not one person that I know has ever complained to me. My dogs always come home smelling great, and looking fantanstic. They even enjoy going there. Some dogs like yours who bite and are difficult to groom need to be muzzled for the safety of the groomers. Clearly your dog had to muzzled for a reason, if your dog was properly trained he would have enjoyed the experiance. Maybe the groomer should have muzzled you instead. Also where I get my hair done, the stylist drink coffee and eat while doing my hair, and it is not a big deal, so find something else more important to complain about.
