Another great restaurant!
Another one of my top picks! This place has great food, but can get a little pricey. The menu is very small, I recommend the BBQ Ribs or the Pork Chop! They also have a chicken fingers appetizer not on the menu, which is so delicious! The five nut Brownie Sundae is usually our pick for dessert! The restaurant is pretty dark and quiet, can get a little chilly! The wait staff is pretty good. The wait for seating can get over 45 mins - 1.5 hours during weekend dinner rushs. They won't add you to the waiting list until your entire party is there and they don't take reservations! The parking lot is also very crowded, they have a valet parking area for the mall nearby. Houston's is in the back of the Roosevelt Field Mall, near the movie theatre and the Legal Seafood restaurant. About 10 mins from the LIE and 5 mins from the Northern / Meadowbrook Parkway.

Good food, good service
Houston's can get very busy 7pm and later, but the service is usually pretty good. When they are busy, the waitstaff can bring out the entrees to quickly. The spinach dip and ribs are very good. If they have the Key Lime Pie for dessert, I highly recommend it (they only have it sporadically during the spring). There is no kids menu, and it can be kind of dark.

They actually do have a kids menu! It includes a grilled cheese sandwich, a hot dog, childrens cheesburger(same size as the adult portion but cheaper), and chicken tenders!

Great food Drinks not great
I've been eating at your Roosevelt Field restaurant for a long time. I love the food but the drinks are not what they used to be. Yours price for a Grey Goose on the rocks is $11.00 and the drink is all glass and no drink SHAME ON YOU.I maybe got 5 zips of it. Called the manager over and told him about, was not offered another drink. Not Happy

Houston's Restaurant is perfect!
Ate at Houston's for the first time last night - on a whim. Friday night 6:30 p.m. waited 20 mins for a table - exactly the wait we were told. Food was awesome....best cheeseburger i ever had...hawaiian steak cooked to perfection with delicious flavors - ginger, soy and pineapple. Service was impeccable. Caesar salad and soup were great...unlimited ice tea and lemonade...bill $66.....i don't mind paying for great food and service!

A CLASS RESTAURANT ON LI FINALLY
No atmosphere? Ever hear of Frank Lloyd Wright? So they asked you to take off your baseball cap. What are you 12? Mommie forgot to tell you that men don't wear hats indoors? Men over 18 in baseball caps aren't men. They are little boys in a mans body. You didn't like Houstons the first time but went back? Ok, lol You saw the prices and that was your excuse to bolt. Like you have ever been to Tribecca, lol Give me a break. Stay at McDonalds. Houstons is a class act from food to service. Anyone that has been there knows this. Yours is the only bad review out of all of them.

Eat Diner Food + Get Insulted
They serve diner food and have a one page laminated menu. I ate there before wasn't impressed. On my 2nd and last next trip, at the door the hostess said that they ask guys to take off their hats. I ignored her. A manager's messenger was sent again to our table to tell me that "to preserve the dining experience they ask guys to take their hats off" And then a third person cam over 60 seconds later at which point i declined to do so. They then wouldn't send a waitress over. So after being in the restaurant for 10 mins, we just left. I just don't get whats so special about the place. Its leather booths and a dark room and dinner food ordered off a laminated menu which makes TGIF look like a 5 star restaurant. No decor, no ambiance, a stupid policy. I will not be going back there again and neither should you. This place is not a tony tribeca restaurant or midtown waspy corporate lunch spot. Its a franchise in a mall parking lot. I don't know if they remember that.

Most Favorite Place to Eat
I love Houstons and eat there every chance I get. My favorite foods to order are the crispy chicken salad in the lime-peanut sauce, the veggie burger and couscous, the salmon, the french dip, and the spinach dip! If you have ever eaten at TGIF's, Applebees, Olive Garden or any other of these places and like their spinach dip, you will think u died and gone to heaven when you eat the one at Houstons! And you will NEVER eat that watery, dull spinach dip anywhere else again! I just read a review about the gentleman who was asked to remove his hat to dine in and he refused. I think they should have left him alone and let him wear his hat. i think it was snobby and rude for them to inforce such a stupid policy. He should have been served. I am surprised because I think the wait staff and the hostess are very nice people. And I must say though, that he is mistaken about the quality of their food. It is by far, the best food and is top notch. I dont care if it is in a mall parking lot, more chances for me to find a spot and get in there and enjoy the food. Besides, they have a gold mine in the spot, have you seen that lines on a Saturday night?
