Houston's North Miami

Can't believe that this favorite North Miami spot has gone to the dogs!
The prices are outrageous $15 for a hamburger and the fries are now skinny minis not real french fries. What used to be a full rack of ribs for $28 that was so big...

Impressive

Usually try to avoid Houstons, but this one is a bit difference. First, great location and view. Second, couldn't avoid ordering steak. Tastes even better than the more expensive location next door.

THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF/SUCKS

ME AND MY FIANCEY PAID $32.00 FOR A FISH TOPPED WITH CRAB MEAT, IT LOOKED LIKE A KIDS MENU. WITH 5 PIECES OF VEGGIES. WE ORDERED 2 GLASSES OF RED WINE AT $11.00 EACH, THE GLASS WAS LESS THAN HALF FULL. ALMOST A FINGER IN WIDTH. TOTAL BILL WAS $99.00 WITH TIP. WE LEFT THERE AND HAD TO GO HOME AND EAT AGAIN. WE SHOULD HAVE SENT IT BACK AND NOT PAID FOR IT. I THINK THERE CUTTING BACK ON FOOD AND DRINKS TO SAVE MONEY IN THIS RECESSION. WILL NEVER GET SCREWED BY HOUSTONS AGAIN. LUIS MIAMI, FLA.

Worst service

We went to celebrate my birthday, the food was good, but when we begin to eat dessert the manager approached to us and ask how was the food, but he told us that we had to go because our children's behavior was not appropriate I decided to write to warn people not to go with children because they are not well received. He was rude and arrogant. We dont plan ever going back.

Never come back

I am writing you to express my deep frustration and disappointment on the rude treatment received from your "manager" (Casey Friedrich) on our last visit to your restaurant located at 17355 Biscayne Blvd., North Miami Beach, FL.

On the night of September 8th, I went with my family and friends to your restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday, as we have enjoyed coming to Houston's over the past years for the food and the service, and we considered it to be our favorite food place. The location is very convenient, and we always considered it to be family friendly. Upon our arrival we were seated and proceed to have dinner. At the end of our dinner we ordered dessert, to blow out the candles, previously authorized by the server. My two year old son found this very exciting, so he laughed with great joy and even had us sing happy birthday again so he may blow out the candles.

Suddenly, a man "Casey Friedrich" arrived at our table with a serious expression on his face and unfriendly tone of voice asking if everything was ok? At first, we were all confused about the reason he was asking, but as we were having such a great time we all smiled back to him and said "yes, great, thank you!" His immediate response was "The people in the restaurant are complaining about your kids performance... their behavior arenÂ´t appropriate for our restaurant." I.. We all remain in a bit of shock and speechless. Then one of my friends asked him if children were not allowed for dinner, but we didnÂ´t receive any response.

So we found ourselves seated in front of this "manager" who neither approach us before, not warn us throughout our dinner about these complaints, asking us to leave. He just suddenly comes out of the blue, without introducing himself, or excusing for interrupting the moment, or at least having the courtesy or manners to say something like "Happy Birthday. I'm so sorry to have to say this but...".

Once he left, we looked around ourselves and did not noticed anyone being uncomfortable, in fact we were no louder than other tables around us. Therefore, I paid the bill and we immediately left.

At the end, I just want you to know that my customerÂ´s expectations were not even met, on the contrary, I feel very disappointing. I want to believe this experience was a rare aberration from your usual levels of service, but unfortunately, it occurred during a very special evening for our family, so I really doubt we would ever come back again to your place
