AWSOME Sandwhich at the House of bagels!!!
I've been to the House of Bagels for several years, knowing them to have the best bagels in the city. I was blown away by the Pastrami Reuben I had for lunch today. At first, 9 dollars for a sandwich seemed pricy (you can get a half for about 6 bucks), but when this mother load of steaming pastrami and house-baked corn rye came at me, I realized I was getting a steal. Delicious Boars Head brisket pastrami-- awesome!!! They also have a 12 ounces of meat version of each sandwhich (a bit ridiculous).House of Bagels on Geary Blvd is AWESOME!!!
I hadn't been to House of Bagels in a couple of months, but was just stopping by to get my normal fix of their delicious bagels (you know, real NY bagels: First boiled and then baked--DELICIOUS!!!!). Well, to my surprise, in addition to these amazing bagels, and their amazing hamentashen and other cookies, they now have a full-on NEW YORK STYLE DELI, plus SEATING and the place is absolutely gorgeous. The staff is super friendly and it was so nice to be there I stayed and got a sandwich, one of their espresso drinks and a bunch of stuff to go (including some of their retail Passover supplies-the best matzoh around). I can't wait to go back and bring friends!!! I even hear they will be getting high chairs and a changing table, too, for families with young ones. House of Bagels is a 10 out of 10!!!Bagels heavenly
I've been going here for a little more than 2 years and on top of really friendly staff with great service, they have amazing bagels. I've tried their bagel dogs, sandwiches, cookies and all have been deelish! Parking has never really been a problem for me but i guess it also depends on what time of day you go.Poor customer service detracts from a decent bagel
House of Bagels think they make a New York style bagel-I do admit they make a better bagel then most in SF but New York it is not. The hamentashen are good but I would stay away from the knishes-they bear no resemblance to what a true deli style knish should taste like-the dough is wrong-it is thin and non-descript and the filings are bland. The other baked goods are overly sweet.Good New York Style Bagel Joint
I like this place. I was drawn in by the mural of happy bagel people on the wall outside. The inside is small but cute. It's a typical jewish New York bagel place. They have got all the basic jewish foods and oh are they good. I especially like the breakfast bage. My boyfriend always gets the cornbeef sandwhich, which is a good size! The people are nice there they seem understaffed though!Worldwide > United States > San Francisco, CA > Bagels
