More Hilton than Holiday Inn
You will be pleasantly suprised by this very appealing new hotel. The building and rooms are very upscale, as is the ritzy Warehouse District location. The restaurant in the hotel is quite good, but the neighborhood is full of truly outstanding choices of every type of cuisine. In fact, the best shopping, galleries, and upscale nightspots in New Orleans are within a few blocks, and the French Quarter, casino, and Lower Garden District are a short stroll. Really an exceptional value!Find another hotel!!
I DON"T recommend this hotel. I just got back from a conference in N.O. and stayed at this atrocious hotel. The service was horrible. The rooms barely passable. The beds were concrete. Find another hotel!!!This is not a Holiay Inn
This property is no longer a Holiday Inn. At one point in time it was. It is now operating as an independent hotel.A Great Place to Stay
I stayed with the Hotel recently for the American Diabetes Convention. I loved my room, it was newly renovated. I was impressed with how nice the staff was and that I felt safe in such a big city. I highly recommend staying here again. I know I will!!!HORRIBLE!
When we got to the hotel, we went to park in the lot across the street labeled "Hotel New Orleans Parking", it also said "Public parking $26 per day". Which is misleading, what they mean is 'Parking $26 per day for everybody, even if you're staying at the Hotel New Orleans'. As we pulled up to the lot, we were told to go check in first... Ummm, Ok. We park in front of the hotel and go to check in. The girl at the desk gives us attitude when we asked a question about the billing form she told us to fill out... mmmkay. We finish checking in and we are handed a parking tag and told to go park in the lot across the street and schlep our bags back when we've finished parking. Excuse me. What? You don't have a valet to park the car in YOUR lot? Fine. We parked and came back into the hotel... Us: "Can we have our keys now?" Girl at desk: "I already gave you keys". Us: "Um, I don't think you did". Girl at desk: "Yes I did, you must have lost them already". Manager: "Just give them new keys". Really? REALLY? I'm not making this up. We finally get up to our room after being chastised for not knowing that you have to put the key card in the elevator to make it work. The room has a plaque next to the door on the outside that says "Association Managers Suite". We opened the door to see a King size bed, two run down end tables, a run down desk with an old roller office chair, an old tube TV in a beat up TV cabinet, and an arm chair with ripped upholstery and only one arm cover. $320 for 2 nights, and that doesn't include the parking. We get settled and decide to go eat and go to Bourbon St. As we were leaving our room, there was a young guy in a T-Shirt and jeans with a ball cap cocked to one side standing in the hall with a covered dinner plate in his hand. He knocked on a door and said "Room Service". Are you SERIOUS!?! Ok, fine. We suffer through the rest of the weekend and sunday morning, decide to get up early and check out the free (from 6:30 - 8:30am) breakfast. It consists of scrambled eggs, grits, sausage patties, cold dry toast, coffee and OJ. That's it, no pastry, no cereal, not even chickory coffee... take a styrofoam plate and eat... or don't.. really, they don't care either way.Worldwide > United States > New Orleans, LA > Hotels
