Good Food
Nice atmosphere and a good place to meet with friends to catch up. I met a few friends for lunch and we had a great time. The specialty here is fried olives in a martini glass with blue cheese dressing. Even though I am not an olive fan, I tried them and was pleasantly surprised. My main dish was a chicken sandwich with red peppers and honey mustard. Delicious to say the least. The service was excellent and I would recommend hot olives to anyone that wants to try something new. As for the cost bring a few extra bucks.Wonderful outside seating
Wonderful outside seating. Food is very good and consistent. Service is really good. Very little area to wait for seating; bar fills up quick; call in advance if you can.Nice Place
Hot Olives was a very pleasant dining experience. My blackened grouper was great. Their signature appetizer, cheese-stuffed fried olives, is an interesting touch even though I wouldn't order it every time. The server was very friendly, and the wait time was minimal (although we went on a very uncrowded night which is probably not typical). The atmosphere is romantic with dim lights and soft music. I don't believe there was a bar so the only alcohol choices are bottled beers and wines. I would have no objections to going back.Romantic inside and out
Hot Olives is a great place to dine, can be a bit pricy but worth it. You can dine inside or outside either way it's a romantic place to dine and have a great time. There is a bar inside .There's also a market next to the restuant where you can buy things to take home such as cakes and sauces. It's one of my fave places in Winter Park.terrible lunch
Myself and 3 friends went to Hot Olives for lunch today and everything from the service to the food was awful. I had the Reuben sandwich which was barely toasted. Not even warm enough to melt the cheese. There was maybe a tablespoon of sauerkraut. The coleslaw was a tablespoon of red cabbage with barely enough dressing to moisten the cabbage. My one friend had the chicken and the bread was stale tasting so she tried to eat the chicken without the bread but it was so tough that she could cut it. She ordered coffee at the beginning of our meal but didn't receive it until we had all finished eating. Even after she asked the waitress if she was going to bring the coffee it didn't come for another 20 min. and then she said it tasted terrible. We didn't get offered refills on our water or iced tea. We sat patiently waiting for the waitress but she never returned to ask how our meal was or if we needed anything but did return to bring check. The friend that suggested we eat there couldn't apologize enough. We are all mad at ourselves for not speaking up when we were there.Worldwide > United States > Winter Park, FL > American Restaurants
